Need a bit of help.. I'm conisdering selling up for a Mk5 Golf Gti. What I can't work out is what my car would be worth and what a sensible price to put it up for sale would be if I went ahead.

 

They seem to have dropped in price recently and seems to be a lot on the market so i'm not too sure what a good middle ground would be.

 

Here's the basic spec of the car, let me know what you think it's worth or what you'd pay for it. I've got a price in mind but wanted to make sure it's around that ball park.

 

 

2004 - 04 plate

Black

122,000 miles

Mot until July 2013 tax until around March. 

FSH 

Pads and discs replaced last year

Console bushes replaced last year to Cupra bushes.

Cambelt done 2 months ago with genuine parts.

Major service last year included - fuel filter, pollen, air filter, brake fluid.

Interior is clean no rips etc.

Not been mapped and hardly smokes at all.

Last 2 years I've owned it I've done 50k and pretty much all motorway to work/see mrs in uni and driving to Europe twice.

Body work wise, got a dent on the drivers door, scratch on boot and some stone chips. I have detailed it so no swirls and does come up very clean looking.

 

At the moment it has Merc Segin wheels, Jom coilovers, black grille, Cupra r splitter and Xcar link ipod adapter. I would think of removing the wheels and possibly the coilovers to sell it easier, but not sure to try it as is first.

I paid £1500 for my '03 Fabia estate. It's the Elegance and had 60k miles on it. It had a year's MOT and tax, plus four new tyres. Not sure if that helps you or not.

I prefer petrol cars so if it's a plus for me. Also don't think the OP said which engine he has, which is why I posted.

Thanks for the help! I was thinking around £3000 so not too far off. They definitely have dropped in price lately though.
