kessy,is it worth it. cheers paul.

The button on the passenger?

What's the button do, switch the voice off? (Steady you married lot!)

I have ordered Kessy, ive had it on my last 2 cars Renault and Ford and find it essential. as i travel a fair bit for work hunting for a car key when you arrive at the airport car park is a thing of the past.

cant imaging having a car without it, it was the 1st option I ordered

After reading the owners manual I decided against it, didn't see the point in having to press things to lock and unlock, especially having to touch the door handle to lock it.... It's easier to use the remote....

I have KESSY and like it.. :)

And you can still use the remote if you like btw.. :)

I can't see what's easier than not having to reach for a key each time you go to the car!

After all, you do have to put your hand in the handle to open it (with or without kessy) so reaching for the remote is just adding an extra, unnecessary step!

You invariably also leave by the door so why is it a hardship to 'brush' the handle to lock it?

I think you'd prefer it if you'd only tried it out first.

It was raining when I got home last night and the car would not lock by touching the button, presumably because it was wet, so I had to hunt for the key anyway.  The way my wife's Megane works is so much better - walk away, get beyond a certain distance, and the car locks.  I omitted to research it properly, but when I selected the option on the Octavia, that's what I assumed I would get.

I do like the keyless start though.  And Skoda positioning the start button where the keyhole would have been, is inspired.  Putting it somewhere in the centre console (ahem, Megane etc) is so illogical.

I had the same issues with the car not locking at start. It's much better if you swipe the handle, like on a smartphone. This way it always closes, even when it's wet. Also, that's how they demonstrate it in the videos on Skoda UK youtube channel.

OK, will try swiping next time it's raining.  I am sure I won't have to wait long, but it's nice in Bristol atm

Thats why I have it on mine  got the "thing"out of the boot,,,,wife and son and then messing about with 6 year old....

Wife says where sare the keys.......on the back seat....and the car has locked its self :wall:

Mrs almost did that so many times in the Octavia, yet hasnt used the boot option once on the Touran oddly

Horribly wet today

Horribly wet this morning and, yes, swiping did work better.  Thanks.

Can anyone give the unlocking/locking the door a try, but with gloves on? I'm hoping it might work, given how rough winters can be over here. I hope I won't have to get my hands out of my gloves to unlock/lock the car. :)

I have kessy on my vrs and it works well - always unlocks when i open the door - i dont have to purposely touch the little dash which is the sensor.

However, i did notice whilst jet washing the car that the locking system can be repeatedly triggered by a jet wash.... lol

Kessy works without problems. It's quite comfortable to leave keys in your pocket.

Tested with some working gloves, stiff from old painting.. :p No problem opening, a bit more tricky to lock, but worked.  ;)

Do not tell my wife I touched her car with those gloves.. LOL
