Insurance Quotes for new vRS

Featured Replies

Now I know these are likely to vary a lot due to age, place etc etc.

But I'm due to pick up my vRS estate, diesel, manual on Friday and a couple of quick quotes seems to show I can get insurance for around £200 or so, fully comp!

Seems very cheap (that's before topcashback of another £40!) - That was with Churchill.

Anyone else been surprised at the insurance they have been quoted for the new vRS??

36 yr old, full no claims with 1 SP30.

I'm 33, 8 yrs no claims. My current focus ST £558 and £178 for my new vRS Tdi.... Result!

33, 4 years NCD, 3 points (TS10), no accidents, no claims and I was quoted £268 or £320 with my 26 year old GF.

Not half bad!

Just remember to include legal protection & NCB protection as well in the quote. Something I have been glad of in the past & well worth paying the extra for.

mine is £360 28 years old with 10years ncb and 1sp20 with my wife who is 23

£215, just turned 30 years old last week with 10 years NCB, £50 excess and protected NCB. Also with the wife on who's 31.

I don't know mine as yet, I've been quoted an (approximately) £45 extra on top of my existing premium for the rest of the term of the policy which is June 2014 and all existing policy things stay the same, which I don't think is that bad.

BTW I have just added a post in the Insurance area for all of those nasty codes you don't want on your licence.

This post has made me even more excited about getting mine

Been quoted £163 for my petrol vRS hatch with the missus on board (who has a non-fault accident). Full no claims, 34 years old and 3 points sp30.

I was pretty astonished.

22, 5 years driving 4 NCB, £520, i paid £650 last year for my mk2. £400 excess with Admiral

When i spoke to insurance about been cheaper they said its because there has not been any accidents in them they are a lower risk car in comparison to a car thats been out years and people have made claims on them

I had to get the insurer to check they had the correct car as they kept getting me prices for the mk2 cause mk3 wasnt on the system

Might be the business use

Would a mk2 give higher premiums?

Would a mk2 give higher premiums?

Yes because its a much older car and a lot more accidents and thefts have had time to happen and people making claims on them, with the mk3 been so new there will hardly be any claims been made on them making the mk3 a lower risk car

This is what Admiral told me

Might be the business use

doubt it - business use is included with my quote from Churchill as standard.

I think Legal Protection is covered with Ensurance

I've been shopping around.

My best that I've just taken out today with Adrian Flux (Equity Redstar) is £460! 2013 Vrs TDI

31 yo, 4 yrs no claims discount, 1 accident in July (small bump in works van). No points, 29 yo mrs as named driver. 15k business miles.

I didn't think mine was too bad, although reading some of the above maybe not so good?!? Who did you all go with above?

Postcode lottery makes a big difference (as I found out when I moved home a few years ago - went up a "grade" :( )

Churchill for me. £0 voluntary excess but £450 compulsory due to SP30 from earlier this year. (standard is £200)

£140.   67 years old last month.  12 years NCB, £100 excess and protected NCB.  Live on edge of town in Gloucestershire.  Also with the wife as named driver.  Legal protection an extra £15.  With the IAM's insurance scheme via broker Surety.

The 2012 vRS TDi costs less to insure than the 2005 2-litre Civic it replaced.

£840 for me on a VRS TDI. 24yrs old, 5 years driving, 1 year NCD (had a claim in 2012), no points.
