Featured Replies

Is there a list of companies who specialise in Skoda bits?

TY

How about these links ?

There are quite a specialists who deal with the 1.8T specifically from an Audi/VW/Seat point of view.

But what can be done for them can be done for us.

Thanks,

It's going to take me a while to find my way round here :D

Are you now a Skud owner, Ian? Last I heard you had one of those Scooby things :D

Edit: Read your other thread now - got the picture :)

Nick,

I had my house broken into, the keys taken and my beloved scoob stolen :(

So I'm now looking for something a bit more "undercover"

And having been on track with TaviaRS and nearly off track with Des I thought I'd have a look at these Skoda thingies ;)

You're joking!!! Whereabouts in Bucks are you? Thought these things only happened up north :(

Ouch! Sorry to hear that - hope the insurance co are playing fair?

Q,

In my little village near Great Missenden we've had two scoobs go the same way in a month. :(

***SLAP!!!!!****

I think you'll find the art of car-jacking and or burlglary to get car keys originated in the South of England.

Must be locals then. Nice area to live in, completely wasted by those b*stards :(

we are upmarket round here.. they use code grabbers and stuff...

With all the security stuff on the scoob a code grabber wouldn't be enough they had to get the keys :(

That tracker was found down the road a hour later

Sorry that I gave the wrong impression there Geoff. What I meant was that all the stories that I've heared about burglars taking the car keys originated from the Birmingham/Manchester area, which for an import-brit living in semi-south England is northern. No doubt these things happen all over England.

Q.

Bloody Southerners, you're all the same !!!!!!!! :D

Geoff,

You want ketchup to go with that chip on your shoulder? ;)

Mind you, being a northerner you'd probably want gravy :D

PMSL :D

Q,

Manchester is not "northern", it is part of the North Midlands. Proper northern begins just above Preston goes across and includes all of Yurkshur. Or thats the way I think of it, but what do I know, I'm a yokel :D

Hell - anywhere North of Brizzol is oop North to me, 'appen! - ooarrr!

Having said that I was born in Leic and always thought of Brizzol as being "down south" funny things happen when you emigrate around the UK!

Anyway - back on topic - sorry about the car! We never lock our back door and my keys are always in the same place, and NO! I'm not telling anyone my address... :D

Go away and count the miles on your taxi :p

How *dare* you group Lancs with the Midlands!! :D

Lancs is "northwest", Yorks is "northeast", Burmingham is "midlands".

(all defensive of Lancs, but was born in Northants - which I guess is midlandsish)

i would go further than that... south lancashire is different from north lancs.. north lancs is much quieter, better roads.. and as for east lancs... well nice roads if you know where to find them but i wouldnt leave my car in blackburn overnight...

Nice to know you stayed with your roots ie within the midlands :D

How long is the UK?

Approx 600 miles. There is Scotland which should be removed from the equation (no offence to the sweaty socks on here ;) its a fine place and should be left out of these calculations). This leaves us with approx 350 miles of land available. So we divide that by 3 and are left with the North, Midlands and South. The North stops just north of Bury. Midlands is from there to approx on a level with Bedford / Milton Keynes. Anything else is Southern.

This excludes certain regions which count as neither eg, West Country (turnip eating yokels), East Anglia ("Have you seen my wife and sister?" Oh don't worry, there she is"), Yorkshire (land of deep pockets and short arms) and of course, the Welsh sheep.gif

Mind you, I suppose that last smiley could relate to that group of people known as woolybacks :D

Apologies if I've missed any regional stereotypes out :D

Not Welsh are you Ian?

You forgot to mention geeeeeezers from Chay-thum :p

you forgot to mention cutting off scouseland and nuking it?
