New member and first time Skoda owner - Fabia VRs TDi

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Just wanted to introduce myself - bought a Fabia VRs tdi today, and after driving it for close to 200 miles am thrilled to say the least so far!

Its a black 2005 4 door tdi, which is largely standard, aside being lowered on Eibach springs.

Had been looking for one with cruise, but snapped this up as it fit my budget. It will be racking up the miles as my commute is long.

A couple of questions about taking care of these cars. I really do not want to effect its reliability in any way, so have chosen not to look at modifications to the engine. The suspension/steering on the other hand could be improved - from what I have read, lower control arm bushes seem to be a weak point, and on mine the engine mount seems to be struggling under load - recommendations on upgrades on both to improve driveability and longevity would be greatly appreciated :)

Also, has anyone retrofit cruise control on their cars?

Thanks all - am looking forward to a long lasting relationship with my new Skoda.

Welcome to Briskoda from a fellow Fabia vRS owner. :) Cruise can be retrofitted at a reasonable price. Have a search in our Fabia I forum for where you can get it done and also pose your other queries there.

Welcome.

Worth searching for a member called Tech1e he does discounted cruise control fitting for Briskoda Freedom members.
