I think some people are confusing a little squirt away from the lights with out-and-out drag racing on the street. I don't mind saying I will sometimes show someone who needs showing who is boss, but it generally involves about 80% throttle for 2-3 seconds, and the "contest" is over. Including the poseur in the C63 AMG who thought he could get away with 50% effort and roared past as I eased up, flashing him a grin. 

I do get kids trying it on sometimes. I won't do 0-60 sprints on the road as it's pointless. I do pull away briskly from people on a B road who fly up behind me but not often from lights. This is normally someone ragging a Peugeot estate or some school run dad trying to relive his youth.

For VRS Fabia hatches making sure the 25 kgs of handicap, I mean ballast weight has been removed from the rear bar, wise to carry a spare wheel though and the obligatory litre of oil for every five fill ups (has it got total loss lubrication like the RX8?).

Take the m/c out to familiarise with 0-60 below 4s and SS 1/4 in 12s and it only cost £4.5K new!

I do trackdays, and then take pride in showing these turds trhat they have no idea how to actually drive a car.

Was just kidding about SWMBO.... In reality I can't imagine her taking on anything at the lights - she knows the trusty Fabia can slay pretty much anything on the road if she was so inclined lol ;-)

I just let them go.... Well in my MK1 VRS anyway.

Since I got the MK2 VRS estate I get ZERO attention. So never even get the chance to let them go!

What I do like to do is to try it on with proper quick card just so I can roll down the window and hear them!
