Monte Carlo Tech - Maxidot and ECS

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the 100% answer on if the Monte Carlo Tech Black Edition includes these?

Spec says not.

I think all of them I have seen HAVE had Maxidot, but I have seen some with and some without the ESC button.

When I ask the dealers, they just quote the standard spec sheet, which says no to both! One even said, deffo no Maxidot and ESC was there, but without a button to turn it on/off?!?

As I understand it, the Black Edition of the Tech is quite recent, and was released after the date that all Fabias started coming with ESC. And, as the Tech has Bluetooth and Sat Nav, it automatically comes with Maxidot?

Anyone have any insider knowledge and can find the real answer?

errm, what's ECS?

Sorry, ESC :whew:

CTRL - ALT-DEL?

Pretty sure maxi dot is a optional extra regardless of satnav fitted ? , however mine had maxi and satnav but then it was automatically given with the Amundsen sat nav but changed soon after as a option

Most members on here with MC tech have reported "yes" to Maxidot.

I am literally finding all of this with a google search. :)

Yep, found loads of stuff and read it all. Its still not clear though.

I am fairly confident on the Maxidot, despite one dealer saying it would 100% not have it.

The ESC seems pretty random though, some seem to have it, whilst others don't. As I say, last weekend I saw one dealer with a Tech Black that had ESC and the switch on the dash and another dealer with another Tech Black without the switch!

I was just wondering if there was a definitive answer.

All Techs come with Maxidot as standard and the ESC was fiited as standard to all Fabias from Build Week 22 and over I believe.

If the car was built from the end of June it should have ESC.

As I read the post I linked to that is what it was saying.

Fairly concrete answer.

Right, understood.

In that case, does anyone know when the Black Edition of the Tech went into production?

If you've ordered one then your dealer should be able to tell you what build week it has been allocated or if it has already have been made, they should be able to tell you what Build Week it was.

The dealer i go to had 6 black techs all with maxi and esc

I went with a mate to collect his black tech (1.2 tsi 105) on Saturday there. Maxi dot and esc included.

Maxi dot is on all techs I believe.

It does seem that most do, but there are definitely some exceptions.

The dealers aint got a clue....so far I have been told the following....

Dealer 1) yes to both

Dealer 2) no maxidot, but yes to esc

Dealer 3) dont know and can't check

Dealer 4) yes to both, but no esc on/off switch!

Skoda Uk suggested I see the specs on their website, which suggest no to both.

I will get the full info on my allocated car on thursday and hopefully that will tell me more.

monte techs before june/july week 22 no ESC

ŠKODA model line-up: cleverer, safer, more attractive
5/1/2013
?Model line-up upgraded with many new product details from June 2013.
The ŠKODA Fabia and ŠKODA Roomster have been revised to provide more safety. Both now come with electronic stability control (ESC) as standard in EU countries. A new “Simply Clever” feature enhances safety: the child rear-view mirror. This additional panorama rear-view mirror enables the driver to keep an eye on children in the back seats without having to turn his head.

Thanks. Back to one of the original queries then. When do they start making the Tech Black Edition, as I think it was some time after the red and white Tech's?

Does the above mean the newer techs also get the child mirror? That would be quite useful!

Ok.

Just waiting on the build I date on my car.

Its on the way from Germany, so i am told, so I am guessing it wasn't built before July. It wouldnt wait at the factory or at the port in Germany for that long, would it?

could be about 4/6 weeks?

So unlikely my car is more than 12+ weeks old?

I would say so?

Just taken delivery of a new Monte Carlo Tech Black Edition and it has Maxidot (which displays direction arrows for the Sat Nav when its in uses and the normal stuff including what gear you are in, time, remaining range and computer outputs etc.) and basic ESC with a switch to turn it off.

Nice. Do you know when yours was built? How long did you have to wait for it?
