  • So very glad that this isn't a thread about your todger Lee.   Might want to rethink the title though.   Actually given my concerns on the title, i need to rethink why the hell I just clicked on t

  • well, it's finally on. PITA this whole thing has been. Some paint flaked off in the process and there's some small amount of filler and paint needed. Still glad I did it (just about)!     SWMBO

  • well, having not done anything to the old fella over the year apart from fitting the GT bumper I thought I'd make a small update.   As some of you know my car was put on JKM's 'heartbreak' rollers a

haha, yeah, the contents of one of the seat draws was a bit dubious :D

Bought a can of Vanish carpet stain mousse. Two hours, vac and sweet as. Kinda

Almost forgot, many thanks for the help that day, Sam. Was a great run into and out of that dubious place :D

Used condoms and copious amounts of lube??

Good shout! They looked a bit of a biohazard before!

And the same to you... cheers for helping me get that wheel. Nice to finally have a set of five! Yeah that was dodgy as feck, no wonder the filth were staring at it cautiously...

I put the rear seats from the Polo in to see how they look. Having never taken the rear backrests out before I was surprised at how damned easy it was. Push clip back with a screwdriver and pull away.  Overall not too bad but a couple of minor niggles with the fitment and the seat belt positioning.

Unhappy with the Fabia rear seat belt buckle misalignment, I nipped to the scrappers quickly this lunchtime and lo and behold, they had a Polo 9n in!

Buckles removed, £10 exchanged and a few minutes after getting back, aligned Polo 9n buckles in the old fella

Much tidier. :)

Thought I'd bring the old fella into the 21st century and 'get down with the kids' so I ordered some LED's for the sidelights and number plate lights. Much better and worthwhile for the price.

Ordered from 'Fizzmo' on ebay.

Much brighter and a cleaner look.

This a Roomster thread yet?

I've started having doubts about a Roomster after fitting those Polo seats. Don't know if I can bring myself to chop the old fella :D

A quick five minute break in the rain and the number plate lights were done.

not much of an update but rattle canned the first coat of primer on the Sport bumper today. Quite pleased with the result TBH; no runs or other crap. Next coat of primer probably on monday.

Is it a straight forward to fit the sport bumper to your old one

yes, very easy. Remove the black trim and number plate holder, It then clips into where the trim etc was clipped in. Acouple of squirts of adhesice/ bonding agent and a few plastic screws. (Simplified but that's about all there is to it). I'll know for sure in the next week or two ;)

Nice - keep coats good and thin, and have patience with it.  Worth it in the long run

Cheers, Jase. That's the plan - hope it works out   Third can of primer tomorrow!

Looking forward to seeing this bumper on the car.

I think it'll look real nice, especially in Cayenne Orange! :)

Got the first couple of coats on today, more paint on order. Still no runs which amazed me! Excuse the poor potato cam pic and the texture. The texture will be much better after polishing and possibly a rub down with some 1600 grit.

Surprised myself TBH :D Mind you, half an hour rattle canning and my index finger is knackered and aches after keeping it on the spray nozzle :D

I found that when spraying the grille :D had to move to my left hand

It's something I thought of after I did the spraying :D will definitely get one myself next time I need to do anything :)
