My old fella

When are you going to fit it?

Bloody hell, people read this :D

Hopefully it'll be fitted before Castle Combe in April but the weather down here isn't playing ball as I need to spray it to match first. Needs a coat or two of primer then a few coats of paint then laquer. I could do it in the garage but the missus can't stand the smell and I'd probably end up high as a kite :D

  • So very glad that this isn't a thread about your todger Lee.   Might want to rethink the title though.   Actually given my concerns on the title, i need to rethink why the hell I just clicked on t

  • well, it's finally on. PITA this whole thing has been. Some paint flaked off in the process and there's some small amount of filler and paint needed. Still glad I did it (just about)!     SWMBO

  • well, having not done anything to the old fella over the year apart from fitting the GT bumper I thought I'd make a small update.   As some of you know my car was put on JKM's 'heartbreak' rollers a

If all goes tits up, Charlie, the bloke next door has a compressor and spray kit. He did some wheels last summer under a gay zebra and the looked pretty good to be honest. Trouble is SWMBO can't stand him as he can't be arsed to replace a fence which came down on 23rd December (that big storm) so I might need to tread carefully there. Paint Barn who Jim and Kate at JKM used for their Type 2 (Hector) quoted me ~ £180ish so no great shakes ;)

That's not bad at all, are you going to find the gt rear bumper trim too?

I would if I could find one for £50, mate. On the other hand the exhaust on the MkI's points downwards so no sooty arse end. vRS bumpers are pretty much the same I thought so if one happens to come up cheap, who knows? This will probably be the last year of ownership TBH as I wouldn't mind a Roomster (wibble) but who knows, I'm not sure I could part with him as he's never ever failed me, broken down or refused to start :D

Roomsters are pretty cool though. Just look at j5s pimped up pope mobile :)

Yep, :) I like the quirkiness but most of all the practicality. I have been asked if I'm joining the pipe n slippers brigade :wonder:  Not at all! I'll be looking for a 1.9TDI PD 105 with, I think, the 'Dynamic pack' - Fabia MkII Sport seats ;)

I asked for one when the fella went in for his full service on monday and ended up with a Nissan Note :(

Went to our local meet and it turned out that JerryT's MkIII Octy was in the same place for some warranty work and he got the bloody Roomster I wanted and he hated it :D

Best thing is most of the mods from the Fabia will bolt on to the roomster

Golf RARBs are cheaper too I think :)

oooo that looks very very nice but the white Roomsters only came in later with the 1.6CR I think. I'm after a 1.9 PD 105. In Corrida red. The black would work with red I reckon though :)

Photo editing's not my strong point :D Red with black works though :)

Could you fit Fabia Vrs front an rear bumpers to the roomster?

No reason why it shouldn't be possible on the front, as it's exactly the same as the Fabia, I think

Hmm could make a proper vroomster :)

Yes it is.

I looked at getting a Monte Carlo one and black fogs for the Roomster I was doing up before I had a 5 second sensible phase.

There is something odd about the Roomster that makes it appeal.

Nice seats BTW Lee, look forward to seeing how they look in the car.

It's the oddity and quirkyness that appeals to me. I know they aren't to everyones taste, they weren't even to my taste a few years ago :D

There's more passenger room in the back and bags of load space.

Yes, the seats do look nice, Richard ;) . I'll have to swap my heated seat elements over though first; can't be having dash switches that do nothing

Anyway, back to the old fella;

Took a trip up the M3 and M25 to East Sussex near Tonbridge Wells today via Twickenham. The Twickenham bit was to pick up a split wheel for Vladsoilerofcarpets (Sam) BMW E36 AKA Claudia. Waiting for collection in East Sussex were these beauties from a 9n Polo

post-73816-0-72109200-1392149857_thumb.jpg Full set of seats, four door cards, one wheel and a laptop do fit in the back of a Fabia post-73816-0-92298100-1392149934_thumb.jpg

However, after getting them home and checking out the seat storage, they may need a deeper clean than anticipated :D

Heater element to swap over as soon as and bolt 'em in.

Thanks go to a certain someone who was a big help in getting them

I hope they'll fit the Roomster when you get it! :giggle:

I did notice there has not been a Roomster project thread posted on since 2012.

They are waiting for you...
