OE Tyres.

Featured Replies

Hi.

Something i saw on the Up! forum, and wondered if the same applied to the Citigo...

On the Up, the cars seem be supplied several different brands of tyres.... is this the case with the citigo?

Is there a certain type of tyre per model (does the Greentech get eco tyres?)

Does the tyre make change with the different wheel options?

Wonder if ill get half-decent tyres with serpens :)

Mine is wearing Continental Contact rubber :)

I got continental sport contact 3's on our sport with serpens wheels

My Elegance, delivered earlier this month, came with Bridgestone Ecopia.

Will be Goodyear Ultragrip 8 with steels when the temperatures drop :)

As usual it'll likely depend who's offering them the best deal, or who can meet their demand that week

Conti Sport Contact 2's on my Sport as well :)

I worked for some time at CAT UK, the UK importers for Renault, the cars came staright off the boat to us at the docks. The brand of tyre varied from month to month and from model to model. As said, they bag a deal from different makers.

Bridgestone Ecopia....

This subject is covered way back in the Citigo section if you do a search and a few different brands surfaced then back in 2012.

Mine came with Continental contacts, decent enough tyre and gets a good rating.

I've driven two Elegance Greentechs... mine has Conti PremiumContact 2E, the other had Bridgestone Ecopia (both are "eco" tyres).

There was a marked difference in the wet....the Bridgestones were just one step up from dire. I would never have them on a car that I owned.

Contis on mine too :)

Bridgestone Ecopia here too. I have 14" wheels from the factory. No complaints. Though I'm not a race driver. :giggle:

Scroll down and you see the Citigo: http://www.ecopia.eu/en/ep001s

Continental Conti  Viking Contact 5.

Yes, I have the winter tyres on already

(Continental Contacts for the summer tyres aswell)

Swmbo has ones, with what looks like flowers on,this she likes :)

As for bridgestone being poor in the wet and "one step up from dire" I see they claim "A" rating for wet grip and "A" for economy?

These ratings must have some scientific testing to claim this??

Defenderben: take a better look at that link and you will see that A/A rating refers to top-of-the-range Ecopia001S and not bottom-of-the-range Ecopia25, which are fitted to Citigo.

Very misleading :(

It is not very clear, it gives the impression of the range of tyres having a double A rating.

I find reviews on that site very much all over the place.

I have a really poor IMHO pair of tyres on the front of my Octavia vRS, almost to the point they may have to come off with a 3k miles on them, as I find them dangerous in the wet/damp, yet the overall rating on that site is very good?

Think tyres must be very car specific for performance in different conditions.

I have driven swmbo's car for about 3.5k miles and in all weathers and found the tyres to be OK but then all I know is they have flowers on them, not taken any notice of the make.

I got Bridgestone Turanzas on my Serpens.

michelin energy in 185/55/15 flavour ;)

I prefer the cheapest I can find... any loss in mpg is easily matched by the saving in price.

traction control can worry about the lack of grip :whew:

Lol, love it

"4 ditch finder specials please, cheap as you can" :D

...and, because they last half as long, I get new ones twice as often?

Anyone know what brand the current tires being fitted are?

My Citigo (Greentech Elegance) is 'on it's way'.  It was built last week. I'll obviously update this thread when mine arrives.
