Max Power vRS

Featured Replies

My friend's uncle's son's cousin's best mate bought a copy of the latest max power so I thought it would be rude not to have a look :)

Amongst the 18,000 adverts for tyres and quick relief ;) there was the red max power vRS and a discussion about selling it on e bay.Think someone posted the link somewhere.Brief piece about the car and how pleased he had been with it.

Real reason for the post was reference to their 'dream garage' listing all the warm and hot cars they would be interested in.Fabia vRS described (IIRC) as 'A skoda,a diesel, four doors and.....surprisingly good actually' :) The octavia vRS's little bit said something along the lines of the spoof advert 'It's still a skoda though' or something.

The real sad bit was the figures they posted.Fabia had the correct skoda published figures, the Octavia said 0-60 8.4 seconds, top speed 134 mph :o

Must have done their own tests on an uphill section of the M5.Should someone correct them or is it best to let the 'maxers' assume they would wup an octavia ? :D

leave the idiots to it, if they can't be arsed to get proper figures then how can they be taken seriously as a professional publication

Max speed is 146mph IIRC & 0-60 is UNDER 8 secs. But I'm not surprised they got it wrong. It's not exactly a quality motoring mag!!

The owner of the chavved/barried Pug 306 who tried it on with me last night must have been a Max Power reader, then :D:D:rofl::rofl:

Let them get it wrong, infact lets all say our skoda's are slower. That way the idiots wont buy them and ruin our cars!

I thought max power was an all show & no go mag like most of them.

Whoever put this in the mag obviously didnt 'MAX POWER' as we all knowthe potential :)

I think the figures for an octy vrs are Max speed : 147Mph and 0-60 : 7.9secs (unfettled of course :D ) if i remember correctly

I already do that, with, firstly, my 1.4 16v Octavia and now with my SDI Octavia. I get left alone apart from the odd muppet who thinks it'll be big and clever to show a humble Skoda what their car can do.

If I'm in the mood to play, most go away feeling decidedly unhappy :D

Good call.

Let's keep the vRSs as the undiscovered gems they are. Adds a certain stealth bomber quality to the car!
