Thanks for all your help guys..

Think im going for vredestein sport 5's they seem to be unbeatable

Not to keen on dancing around in wet as im a ermmm... spirited driver lol

Pluss they arr rated good for sound although im also goong to look into sound deadening

falken ZE914 excelent tyres in dry and very good in the wet.

mine is on bridgestone firenza's and they're awesome, loads of grip in dry and wet conditions, very confidence installing

Uniroyals until next summer, nothing safer in the wet that I'm aware of, they're simply incredible. I run mine at higher pressures to make up for the soft sidewalls and improve dry performance and fuel economy and reduce tyre noise.

Currently on Rainsport 2s due to price and expectation of pretty uniform performance dry/wet.

Rate the original Conti Sport 2s.

Liked Pirelli Pzero and Pzero nero though have an inkling they wore out quickly.

Rainsports were fitted in pairs. Their sidewalls are soft. For entertainment, try them on the rear axle only with maybe some Contis or Bridgestones up front. :) They're far quieter over speed bumps. I worry they'll bulge and blister if I hit anything too hard though. IMO an older school tyre.

Best tyres I've run were the original Conti Sport 2s.

I think I'll try a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's next, they always seem to get rave reviews.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports 3's on mine and they are the dog's b*******, would definetly recommend..

Anyone else use Barums?

I was in a bit of a fix & the only 205/45 R16 tyres the garage had was a couple of Barums. I think I paid about £75 each for them.

I thought they were going to be really awful as i've not heard anyone recommend them, but in fact they are really really good. IMO, they are better than Toyo Proxies, slighty better than RainSport 2 (too soft = high wear). I've had them 14 months now & theres still a couple of mm left on them & I do 13000 miles a year!

But I think I'm going for either Michelin or Vredestein next as I've heard nothing but great reviews for the latter.

Anyone else use Barums?

A mate ran them a good few years back and rated them. I think they're made by another big brand, they're big in germany he reckons.

Yeah. They are owned by Continental.

He only run them on a 1.1 escort bonus but we were 17 at the time so he'd put them through their paces
