What format are the films in?

How have you put the films on, in terms of folder structure and naming?

Does the HDD have a power light? Is that light lit up when connected?

Not sure on format.

Drag and drop film file straight in. No folders etc.

yes has a red light.

Films showed up when plugged into PS3.

I would say the hdd is being recognised if the red light is on. Its got to be an issue with either the film format or it needing a specific folder heirachy.
