the DQ200 as used on the 1.4 TSI Twincharger 180-185 ps  engine is not part of the re-call.  Well not Yet.

 

Well, could be then that the earlier models or just some models are affected ... I have my VIN under special watch by my friend at Skoda Sverige ... :think: ... but they don't know much yet about this recall.

 

We will just have to wait and see, won't we?

Well, seems like not all countries have started their campaigns just yet, in Sweden it seem to have started down south recently but when I had mine in for a quick oil change I was told that it already had the correct mineral oil ...

Well ours is goosed.  Clutch gone.

My was just changed 3 days ago.. got 48 000km on it, this means not oil change at 60 000km, just saved me about 300 euros.. 

That is not correct, the DSG-7 (DQ 200) does not require a regular oil change. These oil changes are only required for the DSG gearboxes with "wet" clutches.

 

One question: do you experience any change in shifting behavior after this oil change and software update?

VW garage says there is no recall on ours, didn't seem to know about any recall at all.

Yes, but they are completely different:

The 7-speed DQ200 has dry clutches and can handle max 250 Nm.

The 7-speed DQ500 has wet clutches and can handle max 600 Nm. This gearbox is the big brother of the old 6-speed DQ250 (max 350 Nm), which is used together with the 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines.

but a Briskoda Member in the UK with a 2011 Fabia vRS has been told his car is part of the recall on the DQ200 DSG.

The announcement in NZ 11 months ago.

Just got a call saying that my Fabia VRS has to go in for the oil change. The guy said they want to do it as a precaution. Ill try to find out a few more details when it goes it. Think it will be a week and a halfs time that it needs to go in.

There have been a few members vRS in for the DSG Oil changed to mineral & the ECU update already.

Several threads in the Fabia 2 section on the Service Campaign. (Field Action.) since it started last week.

One thing a mechanic friend of mine brought up about this is: If its going from Synthetic to Mineral oil does this change the service life or interval for the gearbox as mineral oil is harder wearing?? Does anyone know or has anyone asked?

I'd like the answer to that too!!

Simple thing is,

 ask the Skoda UK Customer Services,

they ask their  Skoda UK Technical Support Team.

 

If they do not know they just make it up,

or use their Special Technical advisor Derren Brown.

If he is busy they have Mystic Meg on a Hot Line.

My Skoda Roomster had the oil changed on Tuesday 28th May it was in for its first MOT and my Skoda dealer suggested they would do the change then.

Car going back to dealer today for diagnostics.
