Phone won't let me edit.

Apologies was just back from work so wasn't in the bed of moods, back again at 8 this morn - joy.

It appears the only option currently is a 30pin apple device and mitsumi assuming you've got it fitted.

I thnk if one can figure out how to install codecs onto the Amundsen then it should work. I'll take a picture of the screen next time I'm in the car. Easier to show what I mean.

Here is the current spec brochure for accepted codecs.

Yep, movies play fine from my iPod on my bolero with mitsumi.

How usb connection works. I have bolero and  I'm get  error message quite often. Its not want to recognize the usb stick. Must take off it and put back then it works again.

Ok, so I got hold of the new mdi lightning cable. I don't own an iphone 5, so I managed to borrow an ipad mini with lightning connector. The car sees the ipad as an ipod when plugged in with new cable. All the features are there such as album art work and full control of music library via steering wheel as you would get with 30pin mdi cable. It's the video I was interested in though. Now it shows video as an option, I can go into it, this shows the list of videos such as rental film, purchased film, music video etc. If I tap on any of them it will go into the folder but reports on the screen "no playable video files found". I had a further play but alas it would not play anything. I have no idea if it means that there was nothing in the ipad it recognized or if it meant you can't play anything video at all. There are videos on the ipad, music and film which were apparently purchased off iTunes. So the new cable is great as it does away with any 30pin to lightning adapter issues that some have experienced. The video side needs more investigation! It could be hardware, or an option not ticked in the settings or it could be a software compatibility issue. I have no idea as yet. It's a start I suppose!

What HD are you using? My Amundsen can't see my iPhone or iPad.

Hi guys!

Any update on this?

It´s possible to play video from ipod/iphone with mitsumi connection?

I just got my VRS 2 days ago, with mitsumi, but i´m still waiting for the MDI cable  :dull:

Thanks!

Hi, I´m from Portugal and i just got my VRS TDI =) I saw your post telling that you are able to play video in your bolero with your ipod. I have the amundsen, but i think it´s the same (except the GPS).

Can you please tell us which ipod are you using, and which MDI cable for mitsumi connection?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That does indeed sound awesome. I'd love to be able to play video on the Columbus from my iPhone.
