Battery box size.

Featured Replies

I'm about to order a new battery and I'd like to be sure it will physically fit before ordering an 096. I know a lot of forum members have fitted 096 batteries in place of the underspec'd OEM tiddler, but can someone confirm that an 096, which is longer and higher than the OE, will fit in the moulded battery box with clip on lid. It's probably not an issue as so many of you have done it but I don't want to shell out for something then have all the hassle of returning it.

Moved you this to a place it should get more response

Best of luck

If it doesn't fit, make it!

I got a lot bigger battery on my car (Believe its from a porsche) and I made it fit, by trimming the sides of the battery box.

To look at, you cant tell its been modified, other than the battery is nearly double the size!

I purchased a battery with the dimensions above and it fits well with a tiny bit of room to spare.

Thanks Damo for moving my query to the right forum, and Wardy for the link to the other battery thread which I missed while searching this morning. Thanks for the reassurance guys, I've ordered a Bosch S5 from JustCarBatteries.co.uk. Lots of short trips coming up in our "arctic" winter weather and I don't want to be stranded by a dodgy battery.

I've ordered a Bosch S5 from JustCarBatteries.co.uk.

How much was it?

Was it cheaper than the £82 from eurocarparts on the other thread?

The one I ordered was £62 delivered from Battery Megastore. Amazing price and service from them IMHO.

Was it a Bosch S5 though?
