Bird wants a new car...SUGGESTIONS?

Featured Replies

Right. My bird's got a Seat Arosa 1.4 16v Sport at the moment, coming upto 2.5 years old and wants something new.

So far, she REALLY wants an Alfa GTV 2.0 Lusso (but would be slightly older, 2nd hand), test driven a Suzuki Swift 1.5 GLX and Mitsubishi Colt CZT (more impressed with the Swift, but I liked the Colt's engine...)

The Swift Sport is due out sometime next year, but it's too late, and the Colt's very overpriced for what it is, and doesn't handle too well, either.

Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives?

Criteria -

Budget -

Suzuki Ignis Sport? Looks like a rally car on the road..lol.

Fabia vRS (obviously)

I do like the look of the new Swift I must say.

My old Skoda dealer is now a Daihatsu dealer, and there are some very interesting looking cars on the forecourt.

What about the Copen? Certainly unusual.

Theres also 2 04 plate Furbys, one red, one black for

A few more ideas........ :D

- Ford Puma

- Ford Focus/Vauxhall Astra - slightly too big?

- Daihatsu Charade GTi

- New Mini :o

- MG?

Chris

Fabia vRS !!!!!!!!!

Not much help I'm afriad apart form the obvious previously mentioned. For chrissakes stay away from anything Italian though.......

Civic Type R??

The Alfa diesel (JTD) didnt impress me much. Looks great, smoked loads though and appeared a tad slow.

Not driven it myself though, and it's likely they were just in the wrong gear and revs that were too low, it could be fine :)

If your Mrs does low mileage I would not get a diesel anyway IMHO. You've got a nice budget to work with though, which should help

Probably should've mentioned - I've got a Fab vRS, and she's adamant that we're not having "his'n'her's" matching vRSs (although she DOES love driving the Furby)!!!

The Mini was something she considered before getting the Arosa, but it's basically overpriced for what it is, overrated and FAR too common...

Lupo GTi

What about a real vRS then?

Why, have you realised you bought the wrong car? Don't kill yourself, just trade it in for a proper vRS :D

Hmmm...hadn't thought of it like that. We've considered an Elise, but her brother would murder us if we got one, since he's been wanted one ever since I've known him! :D
