Cornering Lights

Featured Replies

Not entirely sure my cornering lights are functioning properly. With my Yeti I could visibly see them moving but just lately I haven't been able to discernably notice them moving on corners. Anyone else had this or know how they work in conjunction with the steering ie is it mechanically linked or electrically linked ?

Also notice my petrol cap doesn't "click" shut

Check the switch is in the ‘Auto’ position, a foggy night is the best time to see them working, but a dark car park should also prove if they are working correctly or not... they do need a fair bit of steering wheel input before they visibly corner (a tight 90° bend will do it)

Do they do their little dance when you switch them on, up and down, side to side?

Also have got the driving mode in 'Eco'? They don't function in Eco.

Had problems with Yeti, as the lights also occasionally stop moving, notably after going to manual from auto to use the fogs or from off to auto :wonder: System reboot normally clears it (restarting the car with the switch in auto). Had the dealer look at it a couple of times way back but no fault codes were found and as is the case it works fine while they have it.

I have the car in eco yes, will try it in normal mode but yes it was about the time I put it in eco when it stopped - odd that it wouldn't work in eco ???

It doesn't work in eco in order to save power -it does tell you that if you go in to the screen that shows you more info. If you want, you can set up the custom mode to have everything as you like -that's what it is there for.

From memory,

Sport - Aggressive cornering lights

Normal - Normal cornering lights

Eco - No cornering lights

Custom - Whatever you've set it to

Although you might want to double check, it's somewhere in the manual.

Wow thanks guys, will try it back in normal mode. Anyone else had a problem with their filler cap not clicking to lock ??

The actual cap itself rather than the flap? Mine doesn't click, it just stops and the rotates back a bit on a spring, it's completely different to the sort where you have to put the key in -it'll only rotate about a 1/4 turn.

Yes the cap itself, it turns but when you expect it to click to lock it just stops without a click and wont go any further.

Nope, that's normal for the cap. As long as it's shut - it's the flap that locks anyway.

And the light function is in the manual :-P

Yep that's normal, it's just turns 90 degrees to close.

Cobblers m8 I found the information to 2 questions quicker than reading the manual if that's OK with you, but obviously not as you are too interested in criticising people for being on here ! Run along now mummys waiting to put you to bed !

I was joking -I forgot to put in the obligatory smiley face -sorry if you took that the wrong way. If you read my posts -you'll notice that I have taken the trouble to answer both of your questions.

Thankfully on the mkIII you can now switch the fog lights on while in 'auto' :)

Yep, that is a big plus from the MkII, could never understand why you had to go to manual to use fogs.
