A few questions from a first time roomy owner

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a 56 roomster 1.9 tdi and I have quite a few questions that I can't seem to find answers for so I'm hoping your wonderful community can help! I'm aware that some of these might need programming. I have a friend who has an odbc programmer which he'll lend me but I don't really know how to use it for a roomster so any tips or links to lists of settings would be much appreciated! Here goes:

  • The interior lights seem to only stay on for 20 seconds no matter what I do. This is really annoying when trying to clean the car or anything else in the dark. Is there any way to change this?
  • The central locking only opens the rear doors with 2 presses of the button, again, possible to change?
  • I miss my one touch up and down windows, a setting for this?
  • I had the glow plug light start flashing at me after my wife had driven the car, the error code was: P0726 Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance. My wife says she stalled the car several times (she hadn't driven a manual for a couple of years), could this have caused it? I have cleared the error and it hasn't come back
  • The cornering light warning light has started flashing at me. I wasn't aware I even have cornering lights (how do I tell? I have fog lights). Is this a bulb out or something else?
  • I'm thinking of changing the head unit for something like this: http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/asteroid-range/parrot-asteroid-smart I have factory fitted parking sensors which show the display on the dance head unit, will the sensors still work, albeit without the display, if I change the head unit?

I hope someone can help with all my questions!

Thanks

Chris

I can help with a few:

#2 you should be able to change this via Maxidot if i remember correctly it. If you don't have the Maxidot display you need to find someone with VCDS.

#1 could be available in VCDS as well, but I can't remember seing any settings for this right now.

#3. One touch windows should be able to be reset.  Hold button down until window opens fully, keep held for another 4-5 secs, then hold button to close fully and again keep held for further 4-5 secs.  Think you have to do this for each window.

#5. Cornering lights on a 56 reg?

My 56 plate has cornering lights. This seems to mean two things - first, the headlights swivel, and secondly, it turns on the foglight on the side I'm turning to ( or indicating to, i forget ) at low speeds.

mine has cornering lights, which in my case means that the fog light illuminates on the appropriate side when cornering at low speed with the dipped headlamps on. It works when the steering wheel is turned or the indicator is operated at low speed, nothing actually moves in the lamps, just the fog lamp illuminates.

There are cornering headlamps I believe on some models, I know some Yeti models have them, but that is a different system I think.
