Just wondering if the headlight issue ever got sorted?

When I had one of my test drives I also noticed this, the salesman just pushed them back in and said nothing more about it.

  • Two sides to the coin. Bear in mind that the dealer will have to pull apart a fair amount of trim and drop the roof lining to slacken it off and reposition it. Personally id rather put up with it be

  • the fin is off center to assist with high speed cornering... it points left on right hand drive cars and right on left hand drive cars....   honest.... just check the technical update on www.skoda/n

Mine is booked in to the dealers on Monday for the left hand one.

Also for the gearbox which very occasionally won't engage 1st from startup, feels like you can't push it any further. Taking it out of gear and taking your foot off the clutch resolves it.

Surely that's normal?  I get this all the time on my Alfa Romeo.....  Especially irritating after using start/stop.

If you let the clutch up slightly the gear leaver lurches forward without being touched.

I had it on my mk1 fabia vrs as well but that wasn't under warranty. I was much worse and sometimes affected 2nd as well making it awkward to drive from cold.

I'm always nervous about gearbox issues especially when warranty is concerned. BMW tried to do my mate for 6 grands worth of work for a new clutch, when they took it out (he had to agree to pay if it wasn't a "warranty job" ) they agreed to pay it but only after a lot of arguing.

Back from the Dealers, headlight washers adjusted and working fine. Passengers side window was also an issue, it would go all the way up and then drop back down 3 inches, Even Skoda Assist bloke (cunningly disguised as an RAC man) had issues getting it to stay up. - This has also now been resolved.

Although SWMBO did kerb it (only weeks old) and now I need someone who can fix a kerbed alloy :(

If anyone can recommend me a good alloy wheel repair place in Stoke on Trent area..

If you don't mind travelling a bit, A1 Wheels in Bilston are excellent. They did a fantastic job of the wheels on my Chrysler 300C.

Not sure if this is any help as it's franchise however The Alloy Wheel Specialist in Edinburgh did the wheels on my Fabia and they were excellent, they do have branches down south.

Nicked from the Meme thread on this forum.

Mind - I was going nuts in the Tesco car park the other day cause I thought someone had scratched my paintwork, turns out it was white mud.

She did say "I'm never driving your car again".. Well she got that right ;o)

Headlight washers not retracting 100% all the time (tho it has improved seems to be a bit hit and miss)

Also I hate having dirty windscreens so constantly using the screen wash at this time of year. My god with the automated headlight washing as well it REALLY goes through the screen wash. Really need to butter up someone in the kent area who has the tech (and is lovely enough) to come and sort this esp as my local Lidl isnt selling the screenwash any more lol

I'm sure the steering wheel off centre thing is simply a matter of removing steering wheel and rotating it over another notch on the splined mount. I had a mk 1 vrs with this problem, that is all the garage did. Nothing to do with steering geometry.

After 1 weeks ownership, I have a few minor issues:

*When the car is in Sport mode (when the sound actuator is at its most active), I get a vibration/buzz coming from the console in the roof where the ultra sonics are.

*The driver and passengers window auto up/down doesn't work (but the rear windows do)

Other than that, I love the car. Best I've ever owned.

You can reset the windows - If I recall correctly; with the ignition on, hold the button down until the window is all the way down, then hold the button up until the window is all the way up. Repeat this a few times - ending up in the closed position.

Ignition off then back on and it should reset it.

I'm sure someone will correct me.

Top marques in Fenton have a good reputation, I also had some wheels refurbished there earlier in the year and was very happy how they turned out.
