  • LOL - I didn't shout at her - it was an accident, although she did tell me via text message after she did it and drove, away shouting bye - Even if she had told me there and then, I was driving her Mo

  • Two sides to the coin. Bear in mind that the dealer will have to pull apart a fair amount of trim and drop the roof lining to slacken it off and reposition it. Personally id rather put up with it be

  • the fin is off center to assist with high speed cornering... it points left on right hand drive cars and right on left hand drive cars....   honest.... just check the technical update on www.skoda/n

My shark fin aerial was very slightly off centre. Noticed from standing at the back of car. It's not a problem for my OCD but I thought I wonder if it will straighten? So I gave it a little twist and to my surprise it moved back into perfect position without a massive amount of effort. The fin is still tight so there is no problem with a nut being loose or something like that. So all sorted.

Car just back from dealers, and they have diagnosed a faulty window mechanism, and have ordered a replacement. The headunit (right on cue) started playing up again in front of the mechanic, but it was not throwing up any fault codes, so he said to see how we go, and if it doesn't get any better by the time it goes back in for its window mech' he'll seek further advice from Skoda UK, and get one of their electrical head honcho's out to have a look - whatever that means! On the bright side the steering wheel controls are now fixed - loose connection.

cant remember if ive posted on here but aside from it being a great car ive had a couple.

  • Drivers headlight washer not retracting - seems standard!
  • Passenger seatbelt switch broken - replaced and now fine
  • Right maxidot button on steering wheel sticking in - part on back order
  • steering wheel off centre - dealer wont fix as theyve blamed it on road camber which it isnt as ive tested it on a flat road :(

Just a couple of minor niggles, one I posted last week regarding the Bolero having a mind of its own, now the drivers side window will not go up without the anti-jam kicking in and leaving the window open by 4inch, therefore have to play with it manually for it to close, and this morning the steering wheel buttons refused to work! The car is booked in to the dealers on Friday to 'run diagnostics' hopefully nothing too major. Had an FL vRS before this one and it didn't have a single problem in our custody, so I'm a little disappointed with this one so far because of the niggles - but I'm not loosing faith just yet, I have confidence in the dealer and I'm sure he'll get it fixed :wonder:

The window issue could just be dry sealings around the window. Try to spray on some silicone on the rubber bushings.

My former car did the same because i had managed to dry the rubber out with degreaser.

The windows actually met to much resistance when they went up and the child protection where activated.

steering wheel off centre - is this a common issue, or just you?

anybody else with VRS with this problem?

When the fuel is low, have you noticed that the image on the infotainment screen has a orangey smear on it? It only appears when the fuel is low. In addition the satnav takes quite a while to respond

The smear, as you call it, ilustrates the fuel tank:)

And i agree, it really looks like a smear:)

I've had this on my Eleg, just a few degrees off to the right, not really enough to worry about but just enough to bug me! It has improved, probably down to a lucky (or not) bump down a pot hole which seems to have knocked it back in the right direction, lol, so keeping an eye on the tyre wear now just in case but done 12k and so far so good and no wheel balance issues. The dealer mentioned that they could do a full wheel alignment but would charge me as I waited until 10k before reporting it so they blamed me hitting pot holes even though I said it was off centre from delivery!

So far, I've got a buzzing from both front doors (getting louder) and a strange one with the Columbus.

When the device is turned on in Sat Nav mode it acts as if my finger is permanently close to the screen. I have to actually get close to the screen to get it to clear. It only seems to happen on the Sat Nav screen, the rest seem okay.

I've also had the sound of static briefly when it's turned on, I think someone else mentioned that this had happened to them.

Thankfully a simple fix for OCD. I was exactly the same with my FL Mk2 Columbus aerial - it HAD to be perfectly straight, but wasn't.

Quick hand tweak, all good. OCD relaxed and dealt with.

As above, on a > £20,000 car, everything should be straight. Full stop. If not, and not easily sorted, take it back!

Gents, all those with steering wheels off-centre need a proper 4-wheel alignment done.

I bought my 2010 vRS new. The steering wheel was off-centre. I complained. "It's within tolerances, Sir."

Admittedly, it was only slightly out. Had an alignment done by Wheels in Motion in Chesham for £70. Now drives beautifully straight, steering wheel spot on. Still exactly the same 40,000 miles later.

A sound investment which will repay itself over time with even, uniform tyre wear. The car also drives better with improved stability at speed.

Good luck getting it sorted all.

Cheers,

Dunc.

I have noticed my infotainment system on the car setting seems to cycle through the three options selecting a different one each time I select it.

For example I start the car and get convenience consumers, the next time it could be car status and then driving data.

is there a setting I have missed or has anybody else had the same thing when selecting the car button on the infotainment system.

I think it shows the most relevent one.  On mine when i Eco its always shows convienicne consumers first.  If there's something that needs attention it goes to vehicle status first.  Otherwise it goes striaght to driving data.

So does anyone miss there mkll vrs yet lol

Nope, not one bit, the mkIII is leagues ahead!

nope :)

My new Octy 3 replaced the same spec Octy 2 & I wouldn't wish to change back. The new car is so much better in many respects. OK like others I have posted a couple of minor niggles, however having owned numerous new cars of many marques this one is by far the best.

My shark fin aerial is also off-centre.

More of you said that a quick hand tweak can fix the problem.

To be honest I am afraid this tweak can weaken the glue which possibly may result a flooding from the roof.

By the way, Is it fixed by glue or by screw, do you know?

I have strong OCD, but I am even more scared of the consequences of a wrong tweak.

Please help what should I do! :-)

My washer jets don't fully retract. Has anyone got them fixed via the dealer? Don't fancy a long pointless drive to my dealer if it's a design fault and can't be rectified etc

Reported by quite a few on here - some have said it gets better over time.  Push them back in yourself, live with it for a couple of weeks and if it still does it visit your dealer...

Also got the telescopic niggle.  Driver's side only. How odd.

I had this problem took it into the dealer and they adjusted them and they work fine now.

Mine is booked in to the dealers on Monday for the left hand one.

Also for the gearbox which very occasionally won't engage 1st from startup, feels like you can't push it any further. Taking it out of gear and taking your foot off the clutch resolves it.
