ahhh black and black, the best colours, even if I do say so myself :) enjoy your new car , I have a pipercross panel filter in my vRS ;)

All in black, awesome !

My sister has the exact same car.

Lovely, enjoy! :-)

Condensation is comman but normal sadly

Black is best :) biased nooooo!  :giggle: Great pics by the way

Looks great,enjoy!

Had that on my old mk1 vRS SE. Poor seal fitting.

My old dealer replaced units with new, okay two years later when sold.

Is it a Monte Tech?

Did you get any additional discount from your dealer?

My partner is talking to her local dealer.

I have the same with mine, it's annoiying as it looks like they need to be cleaned!

I'm told its because the units have drain holes in them so cannot actually be sealed.

Enjoy the Monte, I love mine, washed it again yesterday :)

Thanks for the feedback guys! Yes, it is a Monte Carlo Tech :) I didn't get any discount (other than mats and two mdi leads) but I was happy with the deal they offered so I'm not too bothered :)

Booked he day off work today to give it a full detail (wash, polish, wax, wax, paint drums, seal wheels, dress tyres) so expect some more pics later :)

Another very happy owner!

I think there's mention somewhere in the manual about condensation inside the light lenses and not to be concerned.

Some more pictures from my trip to Anglesey, and also some pics from the clean today :) Didnt get time to seal the wheels and paint the drums unfortunately :( So that will happen another day :D

Im still not sold on the black montes, dont get me wrong i love the colour and the lovely green tinge you get from it in sun light. But what i really like about the monte carlos was the two coloured effect , in my case red and black.

Dont get me wrong looks stunning black im just convinced id enjoy owning a black one or not

I thought this at first, and I wasnt sure what it would look like in person, as when I ordered mine I hadnt actually seen a black one before so it was a bit of gamble.

Now I actually prefer the black to any other colour, as the arches and roof etc blend in nicely with the black magic paint. This combined with the tints, gives it a really stealthy look :)

Thank you for the shout Ally, the first car that's all mine but my second Skoda. I absolutely love her, beautiful to drive! And I definitely agree that the black edition is best, but that may just be me being biased

I have had her just under a week and I've done over 700 miles now, and I only work 3 miles away. I just find myself going out for drives as I love the car so much.

One thing I have noticed is that I have had a lot of Saxos/corsas 'try it' with me, most of the time I leave them to it, but sometimes I can't help but but them in their place ;)

I've had mine for two months and I've yet to top 900 miles, my commute to work is a couple of miles, need to give her a good run apart from the weekly blast down the motorway!

I noticed that as well, particularly wannabe boy racers in Corsas!

I've got a mate on Anglesey, he lives in Llangoed near Beaumaris!

Glad you like the monte, nice little cars & i like the black.

Had my Monte estate a few months & done just under 2k miles..i love the engine, it just feels like a good'n like it will run forever although it does really well for a 1.2 i could do with just a little bit more oomph....around the 130bhp mark would be nice...back in the early 90's 130 was a fast car, Vauxhall Cavalier sri 130 etc & although even that isn't much by todays standards it's kinda the perfect happy medium for me, had an old seat leon 90 remapped to 125bhp & that was nice.

So what im getting at is that id love to get mine remapped & I'm Seriously tempted but the hassle with warranty is putting me off at the mo.until then ill wait & see how it feels with a few more thou miles on the clock.

Another thing ive noticed is that it doesnt handle as well as my previous fabia 2 estate.....greenline, the greenline is lower but hardly hardcore uprated & the difference is really noticeable on the monte which for a car that looks sporty is a bit of a let down & it does a fair bit of wallowing over on its massive jacked up suspension.but hey it's cheap & looks great & a full Billstein kit could easily sneak on to my wish list :)

I should reach 1000 miles sometime today :)

I've enjoyed every one of them!

16700 miles. Thought I would sell it, but now my mileage has plummeted and the drives are more fun, I just don't know.

The ride is fine, I'm used to the crashiness and since I stopped travelling on certain "roads" where the potholes could swallow you hole, I haven't felt the car is about to snap!

Seats and interior great (if a little dark in the back) and the MDI cable means plenty of tunes.

Mine's the 105 diesel and although it doesn't drive the same as most other diesels I've owned (Renault 19 td, rover 45 & 75, Skoda Octavia PD140 and Superb Greenline), it is much more eager than my wife's Golf Bluemotion with the same engine. It goes pretty well, perhaps a bit more oomph....

Condensation in my fogs/DRLs went after I popped them to check a bulb - really easy to do, so maybe they're not quite seated right.

Looks great - how did you do with the mini coopers s? Always wanted a supercharged mini...

The cooper S is a 1.6 turbo, I think they used to be supercharged, then they switched to turbo :) on the straights he made mince meat of me, but round the corners I kept a decent gap ahead of him, although that may have been down to the driver ;)

On my late night trip back from Mcdonalds, there was a Civic type R with a bad boy exhaust ahead of me on the inside lane, I pulled along side to overtake, and he decides to do a rolling burnout at 50mph... And behind us is a Police insignia, who then pulls him over. The speed limit was 40mph, and i was doing approx 50/55mph, the police car came from nowhere, I'm not sure how long he was behind me.

I really do hope nothing comes of this in terms of me and the Police, as I wasn't going or trying to race the Civic, but I was obviously doing at least 10mph over the speed limit (which is my own fault).

Opinions?

My guess is the cops were probably thinking of pulling you over when the Civic gave them a better bang for buck (i.e. bigger fine). They're like any predator: they'll take the easiest "kill". I've seen them ignore a group of drivers all over the limit and pick off a straggler a hundred metres behind the pack, presumably because the straggler was easier to "get at". You're probably OK.
