Best polish and wax for new vehicle

Featured Replies

I will be lucky enough to have a brand new Yeti delivered around March next year and was wondering what is the best polish or wax to apply. I was offered the Autoglym lifeshine but declined as it was around £250. Not sure what lifeshine is exactly or wether it would be worth it. I have a pressure washer and snow former and have tried several polishes and waxes with IMO various levels of success.

A few of people on here (including me) rave about Gtechniq products. I am new to their stuff and have only tried the C2v3 and G1 product, and was really please with the results, a very reasonable price, easy to use (as a novice) and it claims to last upto 7 months. It depends on how much you want to spend, getting it professionally detailed will probably only cost you another £100 above the Autoglym lifeshine offered by the dealer and will be ten times better. But if you want to do it yourself I would look for some Gtechniq products.

^^ Ditto above - I have regularly chopped and changed products trying to find the best fit between performance and durability, that was until I came across GTechniq products. I now use C2v3 to great effects and also use the glass polish / sealants.

Spend that kind of money on a "new car detail" and you'll be laughing!

As above - avoid the lifeshine treatment and speak with a local reputable detailer and get it done properly!!!

Gtechniq products are very good on my limited use... P1, C4, M1, G4, G5..... still to try the paint sealant though.

I'm biased as I've been using Gtechniq for a couple of years or so now and love them all.

A light polish with P1, panel wipe to cleanse the paint and seal with a good sealant. C1.5v2 is the more chemical resistant of the two sealants (without going into the coatings C1+ or EXOv2) where C2v3 is so easy to apply and top up.

Now that is shocking, bloody hell!

The big shock is that you get only 40ml. of the paint protectant....very useful!

If you want the best possible finish (and longest-lasting protection), you can do no better than read all the advice and information on the polishedbliss website. Excellent place to buy from, too. (I'm a very satisfied customer, btw.)

And, for the absolute best results on your new car, don't let the dealer prepare it (which is what I did).

Yeah, that's what I did too...big mistake!

Regards

Mike.

Now that is cheap, the kits were £25 ten years ago, cant believe people still fall for it!  Gtechnic products are great , just dont kick them over like I did on the C4, 15ml spills very quick   Isnt that right Ste? http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/gtechniq/c4-permanent-trim-restorer.aspx

Thanks everyone for the info . Glad I didn't take up the lifeshine and will trawl the linked sites as advised. Car won't be here till March at the earliest so plenty of time to decide. Perhaps Father Christmas may bring me some!!
