Can't think there will be much left in stock - the great reviews it is getting!

This product has been getting these reviews for some time now.

It's the first time I have seen CYC out of stock on the 750ml bottles, what is unusual is that there aren't seemingly too many resellers who have it. Might be a Sonax policy, not sure. But whenever I have been to CYC's warehouse it was stacked high on the shelves.

....good to know CYC predicted the demand!

Sonax BSD and NPT have been on the radar for a while.

Glad i got my order in for the big bad boy 5L tub

Wow, that's a few 5 litre bottles being bought up, just in this thread.

If I only used Sonax BSD as my QD that would still be several years supply for me.

CYC will be loving it.

They should really set up proper Brisky discount :)

If you notice though they give every customer loyalty points, like a detailing version of Nectar points. These can be used as money off future orders, you don't get these if you use a discount code. Sadly you also don't get them if you collect. However as I have popped in a few times I just mentioned this and they packed me off with a free gift. They always seem like a good bunch when I visit, am sure if you ask politely when collecting you might get treated to the same if the order merits it.

I'm also happy to float the idea of a Briskoda discount code to them though, if people would like.

Oh yes, know all about their loyalty points :)

Well then you sir, clearly just want to have your cake and eat it :D

Well I do like cake :D

Yep, shame you can't build up any points if there's a discount code in play. But that's fair enough I suppose :)

Yep.... That's the way to do it!

Was surprised how many points I had TBH.

Very impressed with CYC standard delivery...

From time of order to arriving was 20hrs all in.

just silly, cant see CYC being without stock for long, as said before, the buzz on this product is not that new and they have been well stocked on BSD for the last 12 months at least.

Time for an update and time to move in from all this gushing over Sonax BSD.

The ArmorAll Shield is still working and there is a noticeable difference between this area and the other two.

Beading is still evident on the Shield and not on the other two (no surprises). It does appear a little diminished despite washing, but then it has been a couple if months since it was applied and hasn't really been looked after properly since.

It is definitely better than either if the other options. Will await BSD delivery and will add that to the test. Although to keep it fair I should really redo the Shield area at the same time.

Anyone got one sample sachet lying around spare?

A year later and the car is no longer with me!

But an update is needed I feel.

And as its my thread I should be allowed to resurrect it...

I've previously polished and waxed my Yeti in November and washed it twice since then. A realistic 'once a month' for me.

As I didn't have time to apply new wax today, I thought I'd return to the Aquawax as a QD (12 months ago I didn't know what that was...) and drying aid.

This is more in line with its intended usage and I can say that I am impressed as to how much easier it was to dry the car using Aquawax and drying towel (from recent group but) than previous wash and dry without the Aquawax.

Leaves a good shine on the bodywork, but I've seen better results. For a quick top up it seems to do the job (I know how it'll bead based upon previous tests, but I expect a bit better as this car has been polished) and I quite like its simplicity and effect.

Is anyone using Sonax BSD in the same way as the above and can comment on how it compares to Aquawax?

If it is better then I'll be getting a big bottle to use as soon as the Aquawax runs out (next wash I expect).

  • 2 weeks later...

Having been reading the threads in this section of the forum over the last few days I realise I have been washing cars the wrong way for the past forty odd years!  Mind you we didn't have all this fancy stuff when i started.  I have to admit I am finding all of the abbreviations a little confusing but have latched onto this thread and it has been very interesting.

So thanks KB for all your time over this and I too have been looking for an easy fix for cleaning the car.  I have just purchased said Sonax 5 ltrs and will be using it after I have used the TBM to clean the car.  So am I right in what I have understood that you don't actually have to dry the car once washed but just apply Sonax and then buff it off?

Sorry for the hijack but once again thanks for the insight.

Regards Chris

No problems Chris.

I'm wondering the same as when I used the AG Aqua Wax it was a question of spraying on to a wet car and wiping over and the buffing.

If the Sonar BSD can be used the same way and is purported to be better than Aqua Wax, then I'll be getting big bottle and a sprayer.

Hopefully someone else will clarify (I see several knowledgeable people looking at this thread right now...)

There's far more knowledge out there than I have got but I use Sonax BSD after I've dried the car. Easy wipe on and pretty much wipe off so its a doddle to apply.

I have used BSD in a number of ways

One as a spray and wipe..as recommended by Sonax

Second as a spray and wipe on a wet car...Worked fine

Third in a shampoo applicator bottle via the Pressure washer...worked fine too

Obviously, one dried you must go around again with a dry cloth and buff it more

Its more versatile as you think..and as Sonax believe too!! :giggle:

Method one is the best though B) ..but dont dimiss the others until youve tried it

Thanks Chris. Useful to know that it does work in multiple application methods.

Now to find what suits me best.

Obviously, if used with water as adrying aid it will be diluted...But after most washes keeps the car well protected

I often use a QD any way
