If you're happy with the S3 now you've got it running, why not flog the S4 instead? You'd put a big dent in that £414.

For the S3? Then Yes, this one is safe, I took the gamble with mine a few days ago and it all went well, there's some features missing when compared to S4, but nothing crucial. 

I sadly have 2 x S3 (one for work (LTE i9305) and one for me (i9300)) and I have just put Cyanogenmod on my phone and am amazed at the difference in performance. It is much smoother and quicker to react. Need a few days to check battery life. 

 

I promised I wouldn't do this to my phone and my Xoom for ROM playing (TeamEOS JB). Much better than the stock Samsung stuff. 

So the weekend prompt is good for the S3 ??

Held it off since Saturday thinking it was going to kill my phone !!

Did the 4.3. update on the wife's S3 and my Note 2 on Sat, appears all ok up to now.

Yeah mine seems ok ...phew 

 

Could have done with "are you sure" box before it did the upgrade 

Need the bloody S4 version now as my wife is really not happy with the issues it now has.

I also got offered the udate to Android 4.3 and took it. But I didn't search for it: I had a pop-up on my screen offering it and then I downloaded it through the Wi-Fi connection with the help of my BT HomeHub 3.

 

I am on a Galaxy S3 and the baseband version for me is I9300XXUGMK6. No problems so far apart from one app - Angry Birds - which sometimes tries to connect to the net and then, when I try and cancel that, it (Angry Birds, not the phone itself) crashes but can then be restarted.

I updated my work phone s3 xmas eve and now it keeps listing downloads in my notifications that when I clear come straight back. Even deleted the downloaded files but still shows as a notification. How can I fix this and what's a chrymogen mod?? My s4 is spot on but this update on my s3 is shocking

Done the update aside from having to click save on the work email account to get it working again, seems OK.

Some people have just been lucky, but far more are regretting these updates (there've been 3 now & they all have problems!).

 

There a great deal to be said for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
