I would appreciate it if all members having problems with radio reception would also email all of these top executives and cc to [email protected]

I am fed up with the lack of customer care ir even complying with basic sales of goods act stipulations that product bought should be of merchantable quality.

Thank you in anticipation. Alan Gaudry

I will be seeking out related boards and posting this request there too.

RE SEAT Mii REGISTRATION GX14YWG UK VEHICLE PURCHASED APRIL 2014.

Dear Sir,

I purchased this car in good faith believing that all equipment would function to a good standard. I have not bought a new volkswagon group vehicle before and find that equipment does not work in a way I was lead to believe when buying it. I will not be purchasing a new volkswagon group vehicle again or purchasing through lifestyle u.k. I will advise others seeking to purchase a new vehicle of my experience.

his has tainted my view of the product and of your company.

Despite asking lifestyle (eastbourne) to provide me with working equipment I have been told that they cannot, at this time, do this.

I therefore believe that the contract I made with Lifestyle has been broken by them and consequently I wish to have a full refund and will return the vehicle to lifestyle at your earliest convenience. I do this so that I may purchase a fully working vehicle.

I bought a volkswagon group vehicle because I wanted fault free transport  - this has not happened, my faith in the product and your company is destroyed. My pleasure of owning this car is destroyed. I look at it now with displeasure and resentment.

I am advised that the Hyundai i10 is suitable alternative and will seek to purchase one of these cars despite the fact that I would prefer to support the european motor industry.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Gaudry

  • On a previous car (Ford Escort) I had a similar issue, easily resolved... Maybe you could do something similar?

  • Fixed under warranty yesterday. New base amplifier unit fitted, now excellent reception everywhere.

Just because the radio reception was poor?

Fair enough complaining, but indeed you haven't said what doesn't work!

Having been to the dealer three times I expect these gents or their pps's to hopefully make enquiries. The equipment does not work.it seems I am expected to accept equipment which is not working correctly. The trip meter has reset itself three times in the time I've owned the vehicle. If the radio is not capable of withstanding reasonable use it is defective. Had I been told when buying the vehicle that the expected possible useable life of the radio was a matter of months I would not have bought it. If the radio is defective am I to accept other defective parts....not me. It is not reasonable and not of merchantable quality.

Why are you so reluctant to tell us what was wrong with the radio?

That's what's warranties are for [emoji6]

The wife's CitiGo has had the aerial base changed twice under warranty in less than 18 months. Would appear to be a common fault.

Let's hope this one lasts.

Exactly the same reported on the UP forum too [emoji57]

Reception from CDs is still good though. :D

Have tried both the OEM aerial and a longer one from a Golf with no improvement, problem is that I've had enough issues recently that to pursue this too at the moment would (I think) tip the dealer helping me out over the edge and think i'm just one of those OCD folk that you don't want hanging around, so I'll hang on for a while and maybe raise it along with the delamination issue at the next service in October.

I would just bring it up. It seems a common enough issue so they shouldn't be too surprised by the fact.

  • 4 years later...

My radio reception is awful.  Previous car no problems but now that I have a citigo it is dreadful.  Been reading the issue seems to be the ariel base, so back to the dealer it goes.  Seems to be a very common issue and lots of comments online about it.  Come on Skoda, sort this out for everyone with a Citigo!!
