Anyone know how to reset the insp indicator?

Hi

The car was serviced 6 weeks ago but the garage didn't reset the insp indicator so it bongs and flashes every time I switch on.

I asked the garage if they could do it and they just said they'd reset it at the next service (10 months time!)

Is resetting it just a juggle of the buttons on the speedo or is it more complex than that? Anyone know?

Try this, may work

-(with the ignition off and keys out) press and hold the mile reset button

-turn ignition on-wait until the display goes like '--'

-turn ignition off and keys out and release button

Yeah - wasn't impressed TBH.

I thought it might be straightforward - I seem to remember the reset procedure was in the handbook on my old Fabia. But not on this one.

Damo - thanks but I've tried that and it doesn't work.

this used to work on polo's so might still be the same code in the ecu...

OIL-Oil service

Press and hold button (A) (Located on speedometer below LCD display)
Switch ignition ON
Keep button (A) depressed until "---" appears in display
Release button (A)
Switch ignition OFF

INSP- Inspection service

Press and hold button (A)
Switch ignition ON
Keep button (A) depressed until "---" appears in display
Release button (A)
Switch ignition OFF
If required clear the "OIL" indicator from the display as previously described

Surely the answer is blindingly obvious. Do not 'phone ahead, do not make an appointnment, simply turn up and ask them to reset it whilst you wait...5 minutes, no more. If they make a fuss....you make more fuss...in the showroom. For heaven's sake man, grow a pair and stand up for yourself.

Apologies for the minor rant but this is not worth generating a tooic on here.
