VRS 2.0 CR TDI DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,

This might have been covered elsewhere, but I need some advice on buying an Octavia Mk II VRS TDI DSG.

I'd like to get a 2011 year model, is there anything I should look out for, is this a good car?  The auto box is a must as is the diesel variant. I'm currently doing around 18000 miles a year.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

Enoch

Just make sure the DSG box has been serviced at the specified interval and it drives ok. I think its a good car, hence I bought one.

I'll do a deal on my 62 plate Blackline dsg if your interested, pm me. I've got a new mk3 on order.

Road test a few to compare, listen to tyre noise as can be a problem with rears

Get the newest you can with manufacturers warranty if possible.

I get 50 to the gal on mways no problem.

Get the 4 wheel alignment done to prevent undue rear tyre wear.

A sat nav would be handy.

Check service history with the servicing dealers to check whats been done to the car

DSG should be serviced at 40,000miles it costs about £180 for oil and filter etc.

Servicing schedule can be set to variable about 18,000mile /2yrs or annually.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I've been looking at the forums and keep seeing references to maxi dot. Will this be standard on the model I'm looking for?

Also, apart from the wheels what are the other differences with the black line model?

Maxi dot is standard if you are getting dsg.

Blackline is a special edition, kind of run out model for the Mk2 FL vRS.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

The blackline came with the amundsen+ which has dab, an sd card slot for your music and satnav. Also included was rear parking sensors and leather. It also has bluetooth capability which many got enabled and the mic fitted.

The above is over the standard vrs spec and there were no ff options. What you'll get on any standard vrs will obviously depend on what the original owner paid for. Dsgs will also come with the multi function steering wheel.

Mine will be available in about 6 months - when I get my MKIII delivered - I Hope!

Can I assume that the 2011 year model will come with bluetooth, or is that something I will have to look out for (as well as Sat Nav)?

My 2011 model didn't come with Bluetooth, it was an optional extra that (in my case at least) hadn't been ticked. Sat Nav was another optional upgrade that some took, others didn't.

Thanks for the replies, so was there any model year where bluetooth was standard, or was it always an option?

Always an option apart from on the blackline AFAIK
