central locking headaches

Featured Replies

HI all having real headaches with central locking currently.

Drivers door was operating just on key in door lock to lock all doors but not from fob with the other doors which i suspect is a corroded pin on the door control unit which i have had before.

Passenger door was deadlocked shut managed to get door card off and got the door working again by cleaning up contacts on the connector to control unit, but when putting it passenger door connector back together now have no control of all the normal doors except boot on key fob and nothing on doors and windows from drivers door console!

Thought I must have blown a fuse or something when reconnecting things but all fuses look OK. Anybody have any ideas is this likely to be drivers door controller or a short or is the something else I may have blown up?

When you operate the key interior light acts as normal and boot locks and unlocks so car is getting the signal just not getting to doors and drivers door console appears dead?

Help Rob

Broken wire (red/yellow) in the drivers door loom?  Electrical connection in the boot in the vicinity of the CD autochanger soaked with washer fluid from a leaking rear washer pipe?

Am I right in thinking drivers door control unit is the main control for triggering the other doors and if power is lost then this might explain this?

Just seemed odd that having reconnected the passenger door control unit connections all the doors (except the boot which still works on remote) suddenly stopped working it was almost like I had blown a fuse or a control unit.
