which bushes are better?

Featured Replies

Going to change the console bushes

which do people think are best?

ibiza cupra

super pro

powerflex

:)

I have the Cupra bushes and am very happy with them, however if you're doing the job yourself Powerflex have the advantage of easy fitting although they're a bit harder compound, Superpro are apparently the hardest compound of all, many here say they're a bit too hard.

powerflex everytime

Thanks guys.

Superpro are meant to be better but Powerflex are easier to fit, Superpro also do an anti lift variant which helps keep traction under hard acceleration.

I have a full Superpro kit and would definitely recommend them. :)

I HAVE POWERFLEX THROUGHT MINE AND CANT FAULT THEM THE REAR AXEL BUSHES ARE THE HARDEST

I have powerflex front to back except for the console, these have the Cupra bushes instead.

3 years on, no issues :)

Ive just bought cupra bushes not got round to fitting yet though.

Got cupra here on my vrs and elegance.

Perfect.

At my last MOT, I had advisories for console and Anti-roll bar bushes and sway bars.

I have had a console bush replaced (for OEM rubber one) 2 years ago and was advised there is some movement in it now. I find this unacceptable, so I'm thinking or replacing all front bushes with Polyurethane ones. However, as there are 3 or 4 manufactures of them, I'm not sure which ones to go for.

BTW, you've missed another choice of bush: http://www.polybush.co.uk/shop/view/673_Fabia_Type_6Y_99-07/726_Kit_147

I notice that these manufactures give 3 different sizes for anti-Roll bar bushes, so which size do I buy?

I have the polybush kit fitted to mine, cant fault them. Car now goes where you point it and vibration is minimal . Very happy....

How much does the whole superpro kit cost? :)

The correct size to suit the diameter of your ARB perhaps? It's so blindingly obvious that I don't want you to think that I'm being facetious.

I know that sounds obvious. However, I won't be fitting them and obviously ordering them before removal, so is there any other way of telling without removing them and measuring? If you measure the ARB, you may get a false reading due to rust/corrosion or wear on moving part.

No you won't, the bushes themselves are slightly smaller than the ARB when new so that they grip it. Trying to remember but I think the options are 12, 14 or 16mm, there's absolutely no chance you'll get 2mm extra from rust on the bar, more like 0.2mm if it's really bad, which it won't be since it hasn't been at the bottom of the sea for 200 years.

What a superb and comprehensive list from fab, you'll still need to measure the ARB though to be certain though.

I have a powerflex set fitted on my fabia. Very happy with them :)
