Dtuk box ordered for the Vrs tsi

Featured Replies

As title suggests folks I've just ordered a dtuk tuning box for my Vrs tsi. She now has 3.5k on her so I am interested to see what the gains will feel like in real world driving.

I will do a quick write up on fitting and first drive etc. I'm hoping for good results and have the re-assurance of the 14 day money back guarantee. I don't want another tuning box-vs-remap thread, this will be for info of others thinking of going same route

Should arrive early next week.

What's the claimed hp & torque increase?

Top of my head a realistic 30 odd bhp and 50nm torque

TSI? DTUK is for Diesel engines!

They also do one for the newer TSi's

Yeah that would be a stupid mistake to make. The kit was developed by DTE in Germany for the mk7 gti which as we know shares her engine with the vrs tsi

Very interested in this. Look forward to the results. Am hoping to have a little trip up to see Andrew once I've put a few thousand on my TSi

I thought that as well but when I checked the website as octavia5 said they do, do tuning kits for petrol engined cars too. I guess they'll have to consider changing their name soon.

Sounds good, be interested to see how you get on. What would be really brilliant, was if you could do a before and after dyno run. I like the idea of these items, but with claimed outputs and not knowing how much a car started with, its difficult to quantify the actual gains.

Pleased to hear that you are happy to share your experiences. Well done!

A dyno would prob help others make decisions on items such as these but I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week and have no time! It's more important to notice any improvement with regards to the feel of the car. I'm not interested in any fuel economy gains. I will report back on my opinions of delivery, ease of fitting and driveability .

I have done a fair bit of reading and emailed some of the top remappers but no-one is able to get into this ecu as yet. There are a few companies who offer a similar tuning box. A well respected company in Netherlands offers a box that'll take her to 275bhp with a healthy jump in torque however this is 600 euro without postage.

I'm interested in doing something similar with my CR so I look forward to seeing what you think. I've a similar outlook to you, I'm not overly bothered if a remap would give 'better' results just on how mine might perform with a box vs without. Good luck

If Ben@Shark is working with Andrew@DTUK on product development on the Shark Rolling Road then that is as good a recommendation as you can get.

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Perhaps Andrew from DTUK can comment on this to confirm if Ben has had any input etc. My understanding is the kit was developed by DTE systems in Germany. I also understand the kit is supplied in its lower state of tune to achieve the quoted numbers so there may be room for improvement

We added a kit to a new s3 this last week and it gained 46bhp and 60nm of torque on Bens dyno

I'm sure you'll be impressed with the results, and if and when we have any updates I'll let you know.

Thanks, I look forward to its arrival and I will give a good honest review having had both cars and bikes remapped/tuned.

We have a similar system available

from my experience with the petrol kits, i would say that the figures on our website are on the preset setting and are the minimum you'll see.

fitting instructions are available here

Thanks Andrew,

I take it the car will then require 97-98 ron fuel and you've gotta play with the jumpers on a rolling road to find which setting will give you max power.

No need for a rolling road, the public highway is good enough

Thanks Andrew, I'll be in touch when the car arrives.

Hi Andrew, I see you do a tuning box for the Fabia MkII 185PS, same engine as the 1.4TSI but, whats more interesting is the Fabia only comes with 7sp DGS.

Anyone reporting problems with the enhanced Nm through the 7sp DGS box, only ask as I would prefer my TSI with a 7sp DGS.

Regards

T

I would also be interested in the results from the dtuk box..
