Anyone else on build week 4?

Featured Replies

Build week 4 should mean delivery in early March. Or am I being optimistic here - is it likely to be put back?

BW4 is January 20th I think, so taking delivery on a nice brand new 14 plate on the 1st March is entirely possible, I am build week 4 as well, dealership have agreed a Midnight handover on March 1st! :-)

Thanks for the reply - that's giving me some cause for optimism! Would be nice to pick it up that weekend!

Once its built they seem to take anywhere between a week and three weeks to land in the UK, just depends on trains departing the factory I suppose, if you are lucky you catch it quickly, and the same once it is it the docks, seem they either get loaded and delivered to the dealer within a couple of days or a week or so if unlucky, however, being Jan 20th build week I would be very upset if mine isn't ready for March 1st, I see no reason why not.

Mine's due to be built about then which is fine for the 1st March delivery I requested.

Looking good then! Wouldn't want it before the first, of course....

I am build week 4 (provisionally). The dealer said late feb early March. I would wait an extra week or 2 I think to get a 14 plate.

Yes, same here.

Yep build week 4 though suspect provisional as I cant change spec but can change colour and trim options. Id not be entirely surprised if it gets delayed but a March 1st collection (particularly given its a saturday this year) would be quite nice.

Same here. Have you added anything to the spec?

Nothing but a space saver spare. Felt it was well enough specified and the build of a standard car ought to reduce wait times, so far being proved right :-)

Thought id be disappointed with the Mk3 but drove a 2.0 TDi SE manual estate was quicker than my MK2 vRs CR 170 DSG and drove better, on that basis decided non descript looks, comfort and more toys + a good 2k saving over a vRS TDi was worthwhile

Compared to my 1.6TDi MK2, the 2.0 was infinitely better to drive in every way.

The latest 2nd gen 2.0 TDi CR's are definitely more punchy than the the 1st gen motors, also the change to a torsion beam rear suspension on all cars but the 4x4's and vRS's may seem like a negative but a 2wd 2.0 TDi 150 is around 150kgs lighter than a 184 vRS, makes the straight line performance differential between the two negligible and explains why its no slower than my MK2 vRS....power to weight ratio is practically identical despite the 20hp output difference.

Has to be said its a cracking car even in supposedly mundane S, SE and Elegance form.

Build week 3 here :)

Build week 3 here :)

So am I mate, rally green tdi estate, march first pick up

Currently provisional for Wk 4 - not taking delivery before 1 March even if it turns up early.  Not bad going for original order 21 August!!!  2.0 TDI CR vRS Estate )in Silver because they deleted Steel Grey although it's still offered in the brochure.  Encouraged a friend to look at vRS so he ordered a hatch 5 Sept and had it delivered end Nov.  What are they playing at, identical spec to my order.

My order has a confirmed week 3 build and currently the dealer is not committing to my request to wait for 1st March; I expect it to arrive with them mid Feb latest, based on previous experience but this spell of weather may slow things down regard shipping :wonder:

Yep, I'm build week 4 as well, vRS TSi in blue ordered on 1st of sep...Its not confirmed yet but I'm starting to get excited about getting it (asked for 1st of march delivery). Its gonna be 6 months but according to this forum it'll be worth it...

Dealer checked mine yesterday, still code 10, not gone to 20 yet, but if it does confirm for week 4, then my collection is all set for Midnight on March 1st, dealer opening up for me :-)

I am build week 4. Dealer has said that it will be with them by the middle of Feb. I asked if they can hold off registering it until the 14 plate and they said yes no problem. Definitely worth waiting for :)

Ordered end of Sept. They have even thrown in £150 compensation for the car taking over 18 weeks to arrive !!

The whole waiting for 1st March registration will largely depend on whether you are a cash buyer or purchasing on VWFS finance.

I believe VWFS insist that any car they are funding has to be registered and delivered within 10 days of it arriving at the dealership, hence why in many cases the dealers wont accomodate the wait.

My car is week 4 (not sure if provisional or locked at this point) but am sure if it gets built or turns up too early that i'll end up having to take the car on a 63 plate. Difference in value between a 14 63 and a 14 14 plate car will be negligable anyway so would nevet worry too much about it.

When I ordered my vRS on Christmas Eve, it looked like the car could be coming anytime up to July, I mentioned about keeping if it came later as I would want it on a 64 plate, the dealer said as it was being financed by Skoda Solutions, it had to be all sorted in 10 days. So I would have to have it as a 14 plate.

Well, when I placed the order I told them I wanted the car on the 1st March and that's what is on the paperwork.
I've since bought a 14 plate registration to use on it which they are aware of, so if my car turns up early they'll have a big argument if they try and insist it goes on a 63.

I'm on BW5. Was scheduled for 51, but delayed on purpose to have 2014 VIN.

1.8TSI DSG Brown Topaz Hatch with plenty of options (most of them). Not UK obviously.
