Robbie's BlackMagic vRS

Featured Replies

I thought it was about time i threw a build thread up.

Bought the Car June 2012 From Rainworth Skoda.

Low mileage as i only hirt60k last week! and fairly good condition! My first diesel and im not disappointed.

Lets start.

A few weeks after getting the Fabia i had a Revo Stage 1 Map. Through Rainworth Skoda. I'm unaware of what power i have due to not ever been on a rolling road.

I ran the car for 15 months standard apart from the map. Very unlike me!

Time to change that

First Few Bits

Paint the horrid chrome grill surround and put my plate on. Dont let the plate fool you. the car is a 56 plate. the plate is R Gresswell

Remove the rear Wiper and remove the Fabia badge (i had done this before wheels and coilovers, just a photo that shows it)

Throw my coilovers on FK Streets Removed them from my previous 9n. Harsh ride, i need to upgrade, and i put my wheels on at the same time

Audi Monoblocks. 17x17.5j ET40 wrapped in new Falkens 195/14/17 G23 Engineering adapters. Final offsets Front 20 and Rear 17

Few other bits, i replaced my N/S Mirror glass due to someone deciding to smash it while parked in front of the house.

Replaced the Gear knob top as it was cracked. I have a front cup holder that replaces the Ash tray, for when i do my Arm rest mod. I have a fair few ideas for the next coming year.

Thanks guys!

Looks lovely on those wheels

Very nice, great pics too B)

Looks a lovely example, as above some great pics too.

I have a massive list to get though. Now i've done all my Christmas shopping i can get on with gathering parts.

Possible wheel change too.

Nice robbie, glad you got a build thread up and i can see those photos on a bigger screen they look real good.

"Paint the horrid chrome grill surround and put my plate on. Dont let the plate fool you. the car is a 56 plate. the plate is R Gresswell"

Er no it's not its RG55WEL. Which isn't really like R Gresswell, is it?

At least you haven't made it up to read R G55WEL

misrepresented plates were always my pet hate, I used to love relieving people of their 'personal plate, especially when they used to tell me "it's mine, I've bought it, I'll just continue to pay the FPN's"

I was always content in the knowledge that if they had more than 2 FPNs, we could apply to the dvla to remove the plate from them, which they obliged us with.

Funnily enough, I live close to a guy who that happened to a few years back, courtesy of yours truly, £8k plate removed from him by the DVLA for continuing to misrepresent it.

Nice looking car btw, SWMBO vRS is from Rainworth Skoda, who have a great guy in the. Parts Department, Jonathan.

Quite like the wheels too, despite me being a stick in the mud OEM man (with a secret hankering for her car to have 17" spiders); how are you getting on with no rear wiper at the moment, the roads are shifty around Notts / Derbys border at the moment.

Any chance go to pure gym in Mansfield? Seen this around a few times. Looks mint.

Thanks for the eye opening story.

I have no issues seeing out of my rear window.

Thanks man. I've lurked around the site since owning the Fabia. I thought it was about time i started posting.

Where about you from in Mansfield?

Where about you from in Mansfield?

Forest Town area.

Mansfield has quite a few Fabias knocking around.

Yeah, see loads about but nobody on here. Or at least nobody replies on my spot's. What the plans for this then?

I have a few ideas.

build an air kit over 2014.

Smooth Front bumper.

Find a better interior - The only thing i don't really like about the Fabia

Possible wheel change

Brake upgrade, can't believe i haven't done this yet.

Possible full car wrap.

I have a list written out that keeps getting bigger, just full of potential ideas.

Yeah i know what you mean, There is an SE in Forest Town and a Red vRS across the road from it. I see a yellow vRS on my way home most days. I Passed a Silver vRS with a shortened rear plate recess months back heading out of Mansfield. Never saw the front. Though i did park near a standard looking vRS in Tesco a few weeks back.

Love the photography and car too. Keep it up!

Follow you on Instagram.

Lovely looking Fabia. Photos are out of this world.

the Fabia is looking a little sad for its self, stocxk wheels looking rather tatty.

I drove up to the North East last Sunday on a last minute deal on some new wheels. Anyone whos follows me on instagram will know them all aready!

Oz Futuras 16x7.5 ET 30 5x112.

From what i gather they have never been split and are in original condition. Wheels are dated 1995!

I remember to order two 10 sided sockets for splitting 8mm and 10mm. Oz really are oddball.

Got the tyres taken off yesterday and started the strip down. I forgot how much of a ball ache split rims are. I've split a few sets in the past.

As a little touch to the wheels, the black ring on the centre cap will be replace. Currently in communication of a guy about making me a carbon set!

Not entirely sure on the centre colours yet, Barrels will be black and the lacquer striped off the dishes and fully polished. The bolts are in good condition just require a clean up.

I do however want to source new centre cap securing bolts. Originally they are allenkey with a nipple on. So the allen key requires a hole in to remove them. not a problem as i have them but previous owners haven't and used Torx bit and they just look a mess now.

Looking forward to seeing these on the car!
