Been unwell over the past two days and today i decided i wasn't going to mope around the house. Seeing how my other half was at work i decided to rack on with some wheel splitting and cleaning.

I thought id leave the bolts from my first wheel to soak for a few hours while i stripped the lacquer off the first wheel and split the second wheel.

First stage, Nitro Mors, just my luck to have this laying around in the shed.

Rinsed off cleaned and then add another coat and left for around 20 minutes. I never let the Nitro Mors dry. You can see the lacquer lifting

Finally after 3 coats alot of rinsing and wiping i got this.

After a polish up and i have tried my best to get rid of all marks, those near the bolt holes are some what annoying.

I'm by no means 100% happy. But, i think ive done considerably well!

In between doing that dish i was also stripping my second wheel

Quick snap of how well the cola works, i cleaned up a full wheel set of bolts and left the second set in to soak over night.

The main reason i'm doing a wheel at a time instead of spending a full day is i can't bare to see such a mounting of bolts that need removing, soaking and cleaning. 35 bolts a wheel.

That's all i have for the minute. I'll hopefully crack on with another wheel tomorrow.

Thanks mate!

How you getting on with yours? If you are having trouble, wet sand in stages till about 3000 grit and then use a polish ball in a drill, that's my next step!

60grit won't even touch mine mate, need to find a machinist to take a skim of them to get past the pits. What you doing with the centres, staying silver or changing the colour?

You want something like A Grey compound and a Sisal in a drill. Save the hands. I think i'll be going back silver yeah.

my next stages for the dishes are,

Rub them to 400 Grit,

439T Green and close stitched mop,

P164 Blue and loose mop

P175 Yellow for finish with a loose mop.

Followed by a hand polish with Mother Mags Polish.

Nar pits are to deep mate seen a pro polisher and he said getting them machined is the only way of getting past them.

Recently going through life crap and decided to pay more attention to the Fabia again and picked up a new set of wheels yesterday from Melton Mowbray. Just tyres and adapters to buy.
