FL Elegance with Extras or L&K

Featured Replies

Seem to be getting a good deal to renew our Yeti with a FL model.

The L&K looks like an extra £4k of equipment for £2k (sunroof/park assist/Columbus etc.) - none of this stuff essential, but "nice".

I'm not sure, as I'd like the heated screen and DAB radio and a few other smaller bits - basically would be spending and extra £500 on the Elegance on essentials.

Is there a collective view on the attractiveness/value of the L&K and would the dealer have more of a margin on an L&K rather than an Elegance ?

More importantly - what's the brown leather like ?

:giggle:

The leather's OK,sort of dark chocolate colour.

We went for the L&K because we wanted a Panoramic roof on our Elegance,so a lot of extras for not much more.

Don't forget that come trade in time your L&K will be worth more than an Elegance ,no matter how many extras you spec on it.

On both pre-L&K Elegance spec Yetis I've had, I wanted Columbus, sunroof and front parking sensors (amongst other stuff).

On TIBET II the heated windscreen was also desired (not on option on TIBET I)

Wanting these options alone make the L&K a no brainer over an Elegance for me. You just have to ask yourself if you want to spend the extra money on kit you wouldn't have spec'd otherwise.

On the downside with the L&K (for me) is no Duracell coloured roof option (not really an issue) and the brown seats. Probably fine in the flesh but I'd prefer black.

take it from me ,,,,, the metallic brown exclusive paint and the brown interior, although sounding awful , look fantastic in real life , I'm well chuffed with mine.

I have gone for the Elegance with extras (heated screen, silver rails, Amundsen, LED lights & MDI).

Reason? I wanted the 170 DSG :)

That's the spec I favour, but just heated screen and Gobi Leather.

If you don't want the Panoramic Sunroof and Columbus I can't see the point myself.

If you want at least one of those the L&K is worth the extra.

Optional extras hold no real financial value come resale time other than making the car fitted with them more interesting to a potential buyer than one without. However sometimes it's difficult not to get carried away with the options list if there is particular kit your after but its not standard on any level of trim. With my Octy III order I've had to break my own rules on keeping options to a minimum and spent far far to much on getting it to the standard I would like because of this issue.

Mind the L&K Yeti has most of the kit on offer to UK customers, which makes it a good buy if the budget can stretch.

3 things put me off the L&K when I was deciding what to go for:

1. The black & silver origami alloys don't look very good (in my opinion)

2. The L&K motifs everywhere look pretentious. When Skoda isn't that sort of brand.

3. Those brown leather seats don't appeal.

I didn't want these so just added the options I wanted to an Elegance 170. As these options cost me under a grand with discount ( and some like tow bar etc would have had to be added to an L&K anyway ) IMO it was a no-brainer for me.

Got to agree with this ,,,, they do look a bit 'hey look at me' ,,,,, tried to spec car without them

If the L&K badge on the front wings are the same as the pre F/L, which I presume they are, you can just pull them off as I did on mine.

Heat them up with a hairdryer first to make it even easier.

Sounds like you went for the right car then.

I was going to have the Elegance with extras heated front screen and sun roof. Went for the L&K and got other extras thrown in as well.

We were going for the Elegance with a few extras, but finding the L & k in the showroom in Rosso Brunello, the deal on offer with all the

L & K other extras at a few hundred pounds more, sealed the deal there and then with no regrets.
