Exhaust noise is ok if natural, but hardly a necissity. If a fake exhaust noise, then you definitely are a chav.

Just been looking for Jaguar car mats to decorate the Octavia with! But all i can see are normal mats designed to fit the Jag. I want them with the logo on as well!!

May not fit the Octy, but who cares.

Wont kill you, but as for liking the sound generator. Admittedly ive never heard it, but what does fake sound do?

Yes it may be noisier than without, but surely the real sound of the car would be better.

I didn't think it sounded that bad either actually, although it was in the petrol, didn't notice the sound in the diesel, but id imagine it would sound different.

The Octavia isn't a sports car - even if some think the vRS is - so peace and quiet is good in such a car. And from my own experience some artificial sounds such as that in the latest Audi S3 are just plain horrible.

It seems you like to criticise posts various here so I thought I'd give you some easy material. But, if it makes you happy I'll change the car example. The sound generator is even horrible in the latest Porsche 911 (991 series). A car that otherwise I definitely don't hate. That better?!

To my untrained ears it just sounds 'meatier' if that makes any sense. It also doesn't sound that unreal to me. But in sure to those who are more into car noise they could tell the differene between real and fake.

Exactly. They even have stop start and electric power steering although the former is disabled in both sport modes and as you would expect Porsche electric steering is better than anyone else's although lacks the feel of the previous hydraulic set up. It's gone from the lovely mechanical sound and feel of the previous generation 997/2 to more of a Playstation car. At least the latest GT3 escapes this nonsense.
