A Non VRS Forum?

So bad rock. I guessed so

Go for something that doesnt burst the ear drums. Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac.

Now thats music to the ears

Dire Straits are ok, and a bit of Thunder perhaps! I am a bit of a closet Kylie fan too, did I just type that!?

  • Having read through the thread, I think we have learned the following:   1. It is ok to buy/own a VRS as it based on personal choice 2. It is ok to buy/own any other version of the Octavia as it is

  • It's the one that comes with a better spec as standard

  • Alternatively, buy a VRS...that should also fix the problem. In all seriousness, I think it's expected that more VRS stuff is discussed on here. The buyers of these cars are more likely to be petrol

I'm not confessing to my music tastes on a public forum

When I'm in the right mood to drive fast nothing beats Daytona by Chris Rea....doesn't suit the relaxed nature of the Octavia though. Dire Straits also gets the thumbs up.

I've corrected your typo JungleJames  :giggle:

I never knew playing about with Octy computer settings could effect your hearing so much

Now, where do I send the 'Best of Fleetwood Mac' box set?

I'm with JJ, can't beat a bit of Dire Straits, The Eagles and especially Fleetwood Mac. Lindsay Buckingham the most underrated guitarist ever.

Him and Knopfler. Too many people underestimate him.

But theres a difference between Knopfler, and what our friend Matt Pez likes. Knopfler doesnt need to try too hard with everything he does. He knows how good he is without overstating everything.

Metallica? Well, the less said the better

I'm too embarassed to admit to my music tastes on a public forum, as I know how bad the artists are

Edited for accuracy!!

Dont worry, youve said it all now.

What next? The Spice Girls?

You need to listen to the S&M album by Metallica, pure class!

Damn good thrashing metal comes to mind with an album called s&m.

Strictly? and it keeps going down and down and down ;)

I once went to pick my brother up from a Metallica concert at Earls Court. I was stood out in the Foyet talking to the stewards whilst waiting, and all i could hear was what I can only describe as an extremely loud and irritatingly awful noise. I left there having accepted once and for all that metallica do not produce music.

I really fail to see what people see in them, but i suppose thats what makes us all different.

Thank god for real music. Thats all i can say

It reminds me of a band who cant think of a decent title. Oh wait a minute, am i surprised?

@Matt Pez - you need to get out and see my mate Big Shaun in the Everly Pregnant Brothers seeing as you are in Sheffield

It seems we've gone a little off-piste with this thread. Suppose there's no way we can all have the same taste in music, but at least we do share the same great taste in cars, whether vRS or non-vRS!

Btw, just in case you didn't check it out, the S&M album features the San Francisco Symphony, hence S for Symphony and M for Metallica, only a true rock band could have come up with that!

Cool, another one that likes the Jags

You just cant beat the Jaguar XF can you?

All rock is good, but some is better! Mainly bands who were around in the 80s, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Metallica, Magnum, Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Actual music is available if thats your taste

Sorry, forgot to edit Matts post from earlier. Accuracy sir, accuracy :D  ;)

XF is for boring old farts stuck inside a 30 yr old body! Perhaps an F-Type Coupe would be a better bet and would be more likely to impress "The Kent Ladies", but don't forget to part exchange your music collection for some decent stuff, hee hee!

Says the person who needs park assist to park his car

Says the person who buys a Skoda for a sporty car   Ouch

Thats when you pick up the false ladies. No, i buy cars for myself. XF has a much nicer interior. Better looking as well.

Ha ha...but I don't think I have ever said my car was sporty, even the vRS is only pretending to be a sports car, a real sports car must have less than 3 seats and be rwd imo.

Park assist was only spec'd so that SWMBO can park it as she can't reverse park so we needed the front sensors! The front and side sensors are worth the extra but the park assist function is basically a gimmicky bonus!

Ah sorry, you dont have the vRS. OK, says the person driving a Skoda! Right, im off!

Not falling for your park assist argument though. I like it though, get rumbled, so go and blame the wife

...and sound like a sports car!! You can then listen to the surround sound from the engine and exhaust system and not worry about what music to play!

Exhaust noise just turns you into a chav.

Engine noise- So thats settled. A Jaguar XF with a 3 litre V6 diesel. Sweet

Exhaust noise just turns you into a petrolhead.

Engine noise- So thats settled. A Jaguar F Type with a 5 litre V8 supercharged petrol. Sweet

Edited ur typo!

Edited ur typo!

Wheres the thumbs down 'emoticon' when you need it?

OK, I'll rephrase-

Exhaust noise is ok if natural, but hardly a necissity. If a fake exhaust noise, then you definitely are a chav.

That suit you better? :whew:
