After having a Turbo petrol car I am left a bit wanting with the Fabia, I need power. :confused:

Now I am having this dilema, do Remap the car and see if this quenches my thirst or do I look at changing for an LCR/Impreza Turbo.

Is there anyone in South Wales with a Remapped Fabia that can show me what it is like.

There is a Seat/Skoda/Audi/VW meet in Cardiff on the first Saturday in August, it is in the events section, would anybody be able to come down and help.

IMHO, you are comparing chalk and cheese The remapped car is quick, but it still suffers from a narrow power band and "dodgy" handling. The LCR/Impreza turbo are in a different league and the prices and running costs reflect this, more so if remapped!

If you want power, then petrol is the way to go, if you want a sporty diesel with decent economy and a comfy ride, stick with the Fabia and get it remapped

The remapped diesels are quite fast.

They have enough torque to pull a tank up a hill.

But then a few drives would help.

But have a look on www.custom-code.co.uk as there are a couple of rolling road printouts.

This may help a bit or confuse you even more.

That looks what I am looking for I know the other 2 are awesome but what I find with the diesel is it is all over with by 2500rpm but that graph looks better.

It's far from all over at 2500rpm! It feels that way becasue the torque peaks at around 1900rpm' date=' but the engine is still some way from it's peak power. If you look at the graph below (pinched from one of bryand's posts), you'll see what i mean.

I am really interested in a map that can hold a nice steady torque line as I think the drop off in torque is what I don't like about the Fabia.

I can see this getting expensive.
