Featured Replies

I loved Oulton Park, would be a good day.

Shame my finances are not good right now and I'm in Reading.

Enjoy it everyone!

  • I think so, after replacing the front bush again, changing top mounts, replacing subframe and getting the wheel alignment done 3 times it seems to be "ok" at the moment. Sadly the camber is not as mu

You're not the only one.

I have even treated myself to a proper crash helmet for this year, not just a cheap one off Amazon. I now have a Sparco ES open face thingy.

The prompting for this was seeing a rally car barrel roll three times last weekend on a relatively straight piece of road, made quite a mess too.  So, as you never know what might happen I think it is better to be safer.

Let's just hope it does not snow or anything in February or we will have a lot of people at HOW FAST with credit vouchers to use up :giggle:

Looks like this years track season is just about to kick off.

Just been asked if I want to go to the ring in April, so if I can find a passenger to split the fuel costs to get there and back (obviously i'll cover the fuel used on the ring) then looks like i'll finally be going :D

I "should" be working but I know once I have booked the trackday, I can just tell work I'm taking 2 days off :D  I have 11 days to use before 31/3/14 and Feb isn't tax return season, so I don't see a problem all being well.

So, we have confirmed;

Cossie1

Devonutopia

Skud vrs

James I

Possibles;

Copey

Sparkly

SimonK24

Hopefully we will also have two people I know who have Fords, this makes 9 so if we can get ten we get a 10% discount but this looks unlikely this early in the year but not impossible.

If Pete is happy with his car post-Shark and books, so will I.

Pete and I are booked on now. :)   Let's hope Darkside's manifold is up to the job LOL

This is looking a bit of a tricky one to book due to work commitments :(

Not completely ruling out but now less likely

ooooh this is tempting.........

I have decided to take the whole week off now, so come along people, get it booked, stop dilly dallying about, it will be a day that you will not forget in a hurry.

This one is tricky for me and I have noticed they don't recommend Noobs to come along to the general sessions.

Me and a friend are looking at the Novice day 22nd Feb at Cadwell instead.  Makes things a little easier with work

You will be fine Sparkly, you can drive and you know how to use your mirrors, so get out there and have some fun mate  :notme:

BIG assumptions there :hi:

Just book it, you will be fine, there is very simple track etiquette and it works well.  I am more than happy to sit in with you or you sit in with me for the first run, or if you just want to get an idea for how it works, join us but leave your car parked and just get a passenger pass and come out with a few of us.

Any more takers for this meet, i am sure MSV will be running short of spaces as the date gets ever closer. Hope a few more can join us

Looking forward to it!  There were two pairs of RS-Rs in the porch when I came home from work today :D

James?  Are you bringing some toolage with you?  The less I feel I need to bring up from Devon the better really.  Just things which I'd sooner leave here like torque wrench, trolley jack etc. :)

I spoke to a friend of mine today, he is thinking of attending to watch/passenger and to give his Ferrari 430 Scuderia a run out, I failed to talk him into paying the fee and taking part, then again if I had a Ferrari I don't think I would take it out on track just in case something trashed it!

Also, the Escort RS2000 Maxi will be joining us and passenger seat will also be available!

Link to it, HERE  it is the Grey one at the bottom of the page.

If he's scared to crash it, tell him i'll take him round in it, i'm not scared of crashing it for him :D

He is scared of crashing, he has history at Oulton Park from being a BSB rider in the 80's 600cc bikes, he always qualified well but then went on to crash out and never finished at OP, he said he had crashed at most corners on the circuit and never did finish a race. I PMSL at this admission.

He only got it in October so the new car novelty factor is still there.

Well i've never driven the track, so deffo 100% clean record so far, therefore it would be safer if I drive the ferrari for him :D

The track is ace.

Tough corners to master are the most deceptive two on the track, the two 90 rights.

Island hairpin is fun, with the banking and Cascades is well, cascades. :D

I never had the chance to properly learn it last time, thanks to cracked manifold killing my planned afternoon of further tuition and learning.....

I am hoping a full day will finally drill in the proper lines there.  I don't mind going out in the passenger seat with a noob, to relay at least a bit of what the instructor tried to tell me last time. :D
