  • I think so, after replacing the front bush again, changing top mounts, replacing subframe and getting the wheel alignment done 3 times it seems to be "ok" at the moment. Sadly the camber is not as mu

  • I got my RS-R's yesterday   They make damn good dining room table ornaments lol

A full day at Oulton as a warm up for 10-12 minutes at Combe?

right oh then :D

Nothing wrong with that

Should be the other way around really though :D

It's more like a full outing at Oulton and a pleasant cool down session at Combe.

I am ready to book but will wait for Pete to confirm all OK for that weekend. :)

I'm potentially interested in this if I'm allowed on in the Golf ;) need to give it a shakedown on the track!

any car mate, not a Skoda only event as I have a Golf too.

Is it the 21st that your all booking ?

Yeah - per my link in previous post.  Friday works well for me, as I won't need to drive back to Devon and if I break my car there's a good chance I can get it fixed in Telford that weekend, rather than fight my way back to Devon in limp mode like last time....  :D

Cossie, did you sort out the pulling left issue?

If not, have you checked the bottom ball joints as this can cause pulling to one side or another.

Looks like we are getting a few people now, great.

If Pete feels confident about his car being returned to him tomorrow, then he'll book and most likely so will I :D

Sadly the camber is not as much as I would like, but I can't gain anymore on the o/s no matter what, the ball joint is fully out, and the top mount is on max camber, the n/s I had to set to min camber on the ball joint and top mount just to get it equal.

So not sure if the replacement subframe I bought has a slight kink in it, but atleast for now the car is driving "ok".

Will findout in feb if it's sorted or not though lol

Ok new pads ordered as there is about 1mm left on my ds3000's after just 1 trackday and about 4 15min sessions

I think it was the 40 miles on a tow rope slowing my car and the flatbed double cab that was towing me when going downhill that killed them

So just need to get the front tyres swapped from side to side and the car "should" be ready (although I guess there is just enough time between now and then to clean up the remains of the sound deadening from the passenger footwell) lol.

I might even have just enough time to finally swap over my rear arb too :giggle:

Plenty of time Cossie, you should have your car fettled and ready I am sure.  The extra sound deadening removal should give you another second a lap too

Nah i'll be taking it easy, miles from home on a track i've never driven on, on what is likely to be a wet or at the very least cold, track.

I am sure you will...      I have seen you in track mode.

Where are you travelling from?

think of the fuel you would save!  There is always a positive.   The glass is always half full..........

BTW, have you got braided brake lines on your front callipers? Did you just buy LCR lines or did you have them specially made?

Yeh I have Goodridge Braided lines (from an LCR), on the front.

They should fit the Golf too I would guess?   I was looking at HEL brake lines and or making my own but I hear the MOT will fail home made brake lines in the near future.

I don't see why they wouldn't fit tbh.

As for the MOT, no idea on that, but i'm not sure i'd wanna risk my life on a set of home mades tbh.

Home made lines are safe enough, been used for years on rally cars with no issue, proven technology.  I will get a standard hose and see if it fits, might even get hoses when I collect the Brembo's on Sunday

I hope to book this over the weekend.
