My one ended with HFY

I chose one ending in YDS. That way I just have to remember the prefix and 63 yards!

Just had a video of my new car sent through by the dealer. Blown away by them taking the time to do this, and glad they didn't get blown away up there taking it (the weather looks horrendous!)

 

Got a tour of the car and now CAN NOT WAIT until Saturday.

 

Car has the comp oil in there too!

So today was the big day! At 3 o'clock this afternoon I finally got to pick up my shiny new Candy White vRS estate (yes, another white estate!)

I was a few minutes early for my appointment and the salesman was with another customer, but he saw me and just pointed to the handover area of the showroom and mouthed "go and have a look". The car looked stunning. It was spotless and totally blemish free. Once he was free, the salesman spent a good, relaxed hour and a half with me, going through the paperwork and showing me the car in infinite detail. I have to say, he was superb and more than made up for the poor communication throughout the big wait (which at 15 weeks, was not a big wait in the grand scheme of things). He even managed to provide some sun for me, which given the well-publicised production delays on all weather options apart from wind and rain at the moment, was a pleasant surprise!

As for the car... well I only managed to drive it the 15 miles back home today, and that was edging along the rush hour motorway. My plans for a quick blast out to the New Forest were scuppered by most of the roads in the area being under floodwater and the fact the sunshine abruptly ended and the cats and dogs started to fall once more. But even that short drive re-affirmed my belief that this was one hell of a car. It felt so solid, so well-built, so refined. The car is comfortable, responsive and just so good to be in. Biblical weather permitting, I can't wait to really put it through its paces at some time over the weekend. When I have, I'll share my thoughts. For the moment, I keep sneaking off to peer through the window, not quite believing that the shiny beast outside the door is actually mine!

Unfortunately, the attached photo is a bit blurry. It is only an iPhone photo taken at the dealer's. Of course, I blame the lower lighting for the camera shake, but really it was because I was shaking with excitement. When I can get some proper piccies, I'll post them up...If has to stop raining eventually, doesn't it?

Car is in dealers awaiting pdi. Hope to collect wednesday.

I got mine, and I'm blown away by it. If it ever stops raining I'll get it cleaned and get a picture up!
