Sorry new poster to the forums, I ordered a 1.6 DSG Elegance Estate with Columbus, Heated Seats and detachable towbar on the 7th October. I have just found out my car was built on Wednesday and is apparently waiting delivery to the port.

I am happy to take it when it arrives so getting excited now, as another 6 week wait would irritate me somewhat, I was told when i placed the order that it would be here pre christmas......

However depending on how long it takes to get here end of Jan early Feb is fine.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi and introduce myself

Fingers crossed the ship is quick! and the dealers prep the car quickly, as this is their first tow-bar i have been told

Got the news that I'd been waiting for yesterday, the car's been built & on it's merry way to Emden. So hopefully, not too much longer. I'll be taking delivery as soon as I can, waited too long not to. Plus, managed to get his & hers reg numbers! (sad isn't it  ). the missus picked up her Fabia Monte Tech before Christmas.

Got told by the dealers today that the vrs is built and on its way to emden,asked him again about when will I need to take it,gave me a nice reply,iv stated the need by to be march 1st,he said,so they can stick their 10 days it up their rs,which i thought was a good attitude for a dealer to have,thats why i keep going back to them

I have also been quoted build week 3 for my vRS TDI DSG estate in white, but I have not heard any thing from the dealer since Christmas!! Not expecting to pick it till after March, always assuming that it get built on time

But I am now not too worried when it turns up as I have just bought a red Monti (for a run around) on a 12 plate on monday, all I need now is for the DVLA to change over my reg!! So that's another couple weeks to wait.

I've ordered a RS Estate Tdi yesterday but the dealer wasn't able to get me the build week yet.

He said biggest delays are with the Hatch models.

Any truth in this?

If you only ordered yesterday then it will be several weeks before your dealer can give you a build week. I think you will be looking at week 18 earliest?

Not sure why people worry about the plate, it's the year that counts.

I collect my 63 plate this Wednesday and traded in a December 59 plate Renault Megan coupe.

Had I have waited 3 more weeks in 2009 the book price on my Megan would be +350ish more.

Just my view having said that my new motorcycle was ordered in November and I requested collection on the 1st of March, it should be warmer is my excuse....!

From my own experience and looking at cap valuations etc. you get the same sort of value difference on a plate change.

 

Customers perception; when yo go onto a forecourt and see a 62 reg verses a 13 plate, you automatically know it's newer, even though in reality that difference might only be a week.

Good day all, or should it be BAD day

After reading this thread, I phoned my dealer this afternoon, and he now tells me that my vRS build is now week 18!!! That's 4 months late!! I am not a happy guy at the moment. Have told the dealer that I now want lane assist and adaptive Cruise control to be put back on the order. Again after reading another thread on here, I don't see why VW or Audi' s can have it and we have to miss out!!

Well my superskoda bits turned up today, just need a car to put them on and a dealer to be more communicative as to where she is right now :wonder:

 

oh to be fair to the dealer they did send me an e-mail but regard the spaceback launch

The Irish orders are on the same ships, they drop in uk and then into rosslare. Ireland gets a % of the ship.

Excellent! I'm on wk3 as well so fingers crossed!

Asked for an update: my car was built last week and should be loaded for transportation today.

Realistically could very well be at the dealer's this week and ready for handover next week - that's an amazing 9 weeks from ordering, way less than what I was quoted.

Mine is also code30. Dealer estimates 10 days till it arrives in their showroom.

It can take week or so to be shipped and a week to come off it and go though customs and though to the Skoda compound before it arrives at T/Well

No the dealer is digging their heels in and still sticking to the Skoda UK says 10 days and 10 days it is line. They had been fairly confident the car would arrive with them in time to deliver it by the original quoted end of this month, however they e-mailed this evening to say still on collecting dust duties at Emden and now looking more like an early Feb delivery :S

 

This is what I've been expecting anyway, as really it would have needed to be built WK2 rather than WK3 for end of the month to be realistic.
