It's definitely week 3 this week. Also the car only takes 1 day to build. I guess they mean that it could be ANY day this week

  • My WK3 Octy 4x4 has at last landed at Grimsby this morning on the Schelde Highway   Waiting for the dealer to get back to me on the feasibility of delivery next weekend; fingers very much crossed.

  • Wooo, my BW3 car has arrived at dealer's. Will go there today to drop off a set of winter tyres that I bought separately. Handover planned for next wednesday and roadtrip planned for next weekend.

Sounds like the dealer should have sent you that email at the end of last week! It's definitely wk 3 this week. Our cars should be rolling off the production line sometime this week. I can feel the excitement rising by the day

On the way to work this morning I was looking forward to a heated windscreen so I could see where I was going, and DAB so I don't have to listen to Nick Grimshaw.

Careful now. He's a damn sight better than what he replaced!

I'm on build wk3,

Vrs tdi hatch

Silver

Silver interior

Black pack

Sunset

Anthracite

Bluetooth+ (dealer added this free)

Mine should be getting built this week, rally green tdi estate, still seems a long wait still to march first

I'm on BW 3. Ordered on week 49/2013 Octavia Elegance with 20 more extras.

Had a good news e-mail from the dealer this evening, stating my supposedly WK3 car has now been built and they are expecting it in the UK end of next week :wonder:

Possibly a world record if it does arrive next week :giggle:

Oh and I have to take it no matter what within 10 days of it arriving with them. That could prove difficult mind if it turns up later then they are estimating, as I'm on holiday for a week in Feb, plus I didn't want to be taking a 63 reg say two weeks from the change to 14 but they don't seem interested in my wishes particularly :S

You have to take it within 10 days? Is this coming from dealer? Wat are the going to do if you can't, send it back?

I think it's common for contracts to say that if you're not willing to take the car in a certain time, you can lose the deposit and they can sell it as they please.

Sorry to hear your dealer is not too accomodating.

Apparently the finance contract from VAG states that the car must be picked up within that period.

could your dealers not just leave it at the compound, then call it over to the dealership nearer march 1st?,they just need to put a need by date of the first, then they/you would be covered from pressure to take it,and the later it comes to the dealer the better,as,iv mentioned before,i think theres a cut off point in feb where the dvla will stop issuing 63 plates,as the 14 plated cars must have been given their plates in feb,im also bw3,dealer has told me they would prefer me to have a 14 plate,as they are looking to the future when I px it again with them, hope your car is up to expectations anyway

Just had a voicemail to say my car was built last night!! Now just got to have an awkward conversation re:- 14 plate!

If you wanted a 14 reg plate..I  hope the ship takes a scenic route to sheerness..

It took a 9 days from arriving to UK and delivering to dealer

BW3 sure is a weird week if people are starting to worry that their cars arrive too fast. :D

Can't wait to take possession of my just-built car, hopefully also in 10-12 days.

In the UK, our number plates change twice a year. At the moment they all include 63. From the 1st March that changes to 14 and then six months later this will change go 64 and so on.

When you come to sell a car in a few years time it can make quite a difference to the value if it's a 63 plate from the middle of February or a 14 plate from the 1st March.

Bad form if the dealer won't be flexible by a few days, this is how good business is done contract or not. Hope it works out for he OP.

No, I know that, it's just refreshing to see several people almost wishing their cars would take longer to arrive. :)

Thats the crazy thing I'm not using any Skoda supplied finance for this purchase. They original order stated delivery by the end of Jan, so happy to take it then, as that was what was agreed but if it arrives at the dealer in Feb I'd prefer to wait, plus I'm tied up with a few things that month already.

That was the argument I used when the contract was mentioned,i pointed out that the contract works both ways, because they couldnt supply my car at their stated time, end of dec, they cant enforce the 10day rule on me after it (according to the contract)arrives 8weeks too late,i also threatened to walk away from it,as i hadnt paid a deposit and they had broken their original contract that I agreed on,thats when he changed the need by date to march,

hi cortina63, which dealer in lancashire did you order from? Mine was Simpsons in Preston. Very interested as mine is also bw3 and am quite happy to have it for 1st March. I ordered 5 October and was quoted 12 week delivery.

Delays can still happen. I got emailed 3 Jan to say my VRS was built and at the port would be shipped imminently. After 2 chase emails for update as to if it was in the country got ignored got emailed today 16 Jan to say it was still at the port awaiting shipping.
