TYRES - Sorry again I know

Featured Replies

I do 1000 miles a week in my vRS most of which is motorway. Not much in the way of ramping the car (honest :D ) so really after a hard wearing tyre.

So here it is What make do you think I should go for and how much.

I see a lot of people get theirs mail order (don't have a problem with that) but who then fits them?????

Hard wearing is a trade off for grip.

We have both the Michelins (SWMBO) and the Conti's (Mine) on our cars neither of which seem to offer much grip but they are hard wearing. Personnally I would sooner replace my tyres a little more often and benefit from more grip.

Khumo's !!

I would stick with the michelins for longetivity..

if you rotate them, youll get over 30k out of a set :)

i got 35k from mine, including 2 trackdays and several spirited drives round wales :D

EDIT: it even says on the michelin website that the Pilot Primacy (was fitted as standard to the early Fabia RS's) as being a "high milage" tyre

Michelins are the best I know of for mileage!

However, on a cost per mile basis, I've heard people saying that getting certain budget brands can work out cheaper, but I've never found out which...

...I prefer grip to life!

Khumos have great grip AND wear rate is excellent. All at a bargain price. You cannot go wrong !!

Bye the way. Anybody know what brand of tyres a new vRS Fabia gets?

IIRC its a conti sport contact :)

1000 miles a week!!! EEEK!

With my sort of driving, I'd be through a set of Toyo T1-S's in 5 weeks!!!

Hehehe... I must say though, my Toyo T1-R's are lasting a lot longer than the old S's.

Michellin's seem to last a while... Or Kum Hoes.

1000 miles a week?

Lightweight! :haha:

Try 1500 :D
