Anyone been to Blyton Park?

Super well my cold/flu is almost gone so hopefully I can pop over and have a gander.

Richard has said it's reconfigurable, as 1 or 2 different or 2 at the same time.

May even be some grass stuff for the yeti's and citigo's.

Lots of possibilities, not confirmed as not booked but would be likely to be early August one of the first two weekends, if this venue ends up being number 1.

  • ok this is almost a done deal, awaiting to hear back from a couple of other venues.   more details to follow, great feedback above, thank you.   For infor it can now be configured 3 ways with some

  • It's 300 odd miles from me, but I am still going!

  • I'd definitely be up for Blyton park   It's a track I've been wanting to have a go on for quite a while now.

Maybe a few of should book a track day there, sort of a check out mission for Colin and a bit of fun too?

Link to a £99 Javelin event in March.

Blyton Park

Already booked mine for 1st April.

Early august would be best for me.

Just a thought... If Blyton is not what you are looking for, is it possible to book Millbrook for such an event?

This sounds like a good idea.

Skoda track day and show, would be great if we had the turn out of the last mega meet.

For infor it can now be configured 3 ways with some new track having been laid. Got to passenger these configs and they are all challenging.

Access road is not too bad, the odd pothole but it's wide enough to avoid any of them, apart from the one I did'nt as I was gawping at the new alfa 4c on test... which was as close as I could get :(

I'll be there

Got a proposed date yet Colin?

Only 160 miles for me.

Date would be great. :)

If Blyton, then 3rd Aug. Awaiting one more venue to come back.

Other venue has come back, almost double the price; weekend summer :S, so Blyton is front runner. Waiting confirmation of deposit then I'll shout!

Woohoo

I like Blyton. Will be looking forward to this.

What kind of numbers are they/you expecting, Colin?

Be nice to try a different track I wouldn't usually visit.

3rd August is ideal.

Yes, it's nice to get early warning so we can plan around it.

We quite often go away the first week of August so I'll change that.

Excellent choice, I might try to do a 'Richard' and get a driver so that I can bring both cars over  :)

re numbers, depends, the more the less I have to panic :) It's got space for way more than gaydon, track if set as a track day, has capacity for 50 cars, clearly I'm hoping for more static. But...

Will confirm date tomorrow, talking to Richard (Blyton) at venue. Where upon the date will be formalised.

Then there will be an invitation for people to form a working group, this is to cover aspects I don't do well on, like prizes, competitions etc. We'll also look at how the day is to run, track time etc.

We have half an airfield to experiment with. I'm hoping as it's also a 'media' free weekend for the SUK team, so I'm really looking forward to some good presence.

Just need to find a few of these in garages to make it spicy ;)

post-6-0-21399900-1389919489_thumb.jpg kind of a citigo size...

More tomorrow!

Oh and Lincoln is not far away for SWMBO and kiddies...

Yes aware holidays are playing a part, this or that time of year is a minefield. Faced same dilemma last year on dates.

In a way the alternative venue was no better on dates being early july or late aug, both clashing with major events which jeopardise support.

I've cancelled my hols, well postponed them to the 4th, have to drive to the alps on my own, can take extra baked beans though :S

I will be there, no clash of dates for me, I could also be around for a bit of assistance and probably try out the camping facilities maybe...

Look forward to the updates Colin.

There is camping space available at Blyton, the loos and showers are pretty good too.  No café on site but a catering van visits during events.   The track itself is nice smooth tarmac, much better surface than the normal Airfield track.

There was a cafe there when I went?

Any news on this being confirmed Colin?

Sunday, 3rd August, Sam

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks promising for the 3rd Aug - so hopefully if all goes well I can bring my Rapid.  As its track I think I might tow it up!
