I'm back

Featured Replies

Well some of you guys may remember me, I had a white 110 SE YETI and I traded it in for a freelander.

I tottaly missed the yeti in so many ways, so ive just been and bought a YETI elegance in muscovado . Its a 140 4x4 with nearly all the extras ticked and I pick it up on sunday.

I cant wait to get back into a yeti, really excited and glad to be back in here.

hello to all.

Welcome back Dian!

I bet the weather in Cyprus is better than the UK at the moment?

Welcome back!

Great choice of colour!

Welcome back, same colour as my new FL yeti

Thanks guys, not sure what the cyprus thing is about? Im from west yorkshire.

but nice to see some familiar names still here.

Yes, welcome back.

Have you gone for a new Facelift Elegance?

Welcome back Dinski, GREAT choice of engine

Have fun in the new beast first and post some pics when your back home again.

Pleased to here you are with us again. Sounds like the pull of the Yeti was too much, interesting to know what you thought of the Freelander. Welcome home mate

No I've gone for the old shape still better in my opinion. Plus I'll be honest with you I saved a fortune by buying the older shape.

I still can't believe how many optional extras it has, the original owner must have spent a fortune.

The ones I know of are-

Speaker upgrade

Park assist

Rough road package

Annapurna wheels

Bluetooth controls on wheel

Tyre pressure monitor

6 cd changer

Parking sensors front & rear

MDI

Thanks guys, I will post some pics as soon as I collect it. I'll also let you know what I thought of the freelander, it involves a few trips to the dealers for repairs. But not an all bad experience with it.

When I took the yeti out yesterday I made my mind up instantly it was what I wanted again.

It was defiantly the worst decision I made in a long time getting rid if my old yeti. Don't know what I was thinking really.

Erm, I think I confused you with someone else, apologies.

Oh, and muscovado is a very good colour. My old one was a dressed in it.

Petrol blue, is now the best colour, for me, anyway.

Stands back and waits for a colour war...

Oh right I see, I have been to Cyprus recently but didn't remember putting anything on here.

Anyway yeah petrol blue doss look good, the thing is I think the yeti is one of those cars that suits most colours. I was very close to buying one in navy blue yesterday but the mileage was a bit high for my liking and it was an SE so didn't feel like to much of a step up from my previous SE.

I had a white yeti before and even contemplated going back to white, but I've always wanted the musky it's just a bit different.

Think the next thing I need to think about is some winters or all season tyres, very high up where I live and we get loads if snow, when it eventually comes.

I'll have a check on the forum would be nice if someone had a set for sale on here.

Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone.

Is offnote still around? He used to make me laugh with his constant put downs of the yeti, I wonder if he ever bought one? Hmmm!

Someone who was changing models recently had a set of steels and winter tyres for sale ,got a feeling it might have been TP, might be worth dropping him a PM.

Thanks bob, I'll do that.

Hi Dinski,

pleased to hear your rejoining the Yeti fold and yes sadly I'm leaving but not far, only to the Octy III forum :giggle:

If your are after winters let me know as I am looking to sell mine and some Rif wheel trims to go with. also have a parcel shelf net and a Heko lower winter grill cover that will need to find a new home. Oh and I don't mind sorting out sending in the 'post'.

Regards,

TP

Oooo, interested in the net and grill cover.  I'll PM you!

Hi tp yes defiantly interested in the steel wheels and winters if you want to pm me the details and price that would be great.

Thanks

Welcome back Dinski!

May have been me also with a set of steels, winters and Rifs for sale - but fear not TP, no bidding war!

I reckon there'll be a popular buy very soon when all this rain and wet starts to freeze...

Aerofurb, I have just bought a Yeti, if you get chance could you PM me a price for the winter wheels, I am in South Cumbria, not too sure what to do tyre wise yet (leave on the new summers, swap to all season or buy winter wheels & tyres) but could be swayed if your not too far away & the price is good.

Sorry for hijacking the thread everyone.

I've got a CR170 elegance in muscovado with annapurna alloys and i think the combination looks great! Enjoy!

Thanks Steve, I couldn't agree more. As good as the musky looks in daylight it has a real unique look at night too. The Anna's are nice although I imagine a bit of pain to clean.

Looking forward to collecting it today.

I traded it in for a freelander.

Which Freelander did you have out of interest?

I sold my Yeti & replaced with a FL1.

There are a few things I miss, (the toys!) but overall I really like it.

I had a freelancer 2 black and white edition , I didn't hate the car in anyway I just missed the yeti, I know a lot of people won't agree, but I personally didn't think the build quality was as good as the yeti.

And to be fair I made a rushed decision when I bought it. I sold that then bought a 2006 rav 4 to tie me over till I decided I wanted a yeti again.

I know I'm mad and recently I've lost so much money on cars I could have and should have just bought a new one. But I'm hoping this is going to be my last yeti for a while now.

I've been out driving in the fog tonight in Halifax and was shocked to see that the xenon lights are terrible in fog it just makes visibility even worse, making everything super white!

Which brings me to a question if some one can answer it. On my old SE yeti I didn't have xenons or auto lights and now when I turn the lights to either auto or dipped beam no matter how much I pull the switch the fogs don't come on? On my old one you just simply pulled the light switch out and it put the fogs on in 2 stages once for front and a bit further out for the rear.

I stand to be corrected, but I feel really silly not being able to get the fogs on. Unless they already are? But it doesn't look like they are when driving.

Thanks in advance for any advice guys.
