2.0tfsi Clutch Dilemma

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the clutch for the vRs 2.0tfsi is the same part as in the Audi S3 and Seat Leon Cupra etc.?

The reason I ask is my clutch has started slipping following a Revo stage 1 remap. The car has done 60,000 miles so it may have been worn anyway and the remap has finished it off. Either way, I'll need a new one so face the decision of uprated (Sachs), or standard (Luk).

Having done a bit of research it seems that the standard one can be fitted to a higher power 2.0tfsi (i.e. in the cupra). Is this the case? If so surely a standard one will be ok in a remapped vRs 2.0tfsi?

Thanks for your help!

Both sachs and luk supply oe parts, suggest you check with skuk and tps which version you have fitted. You can't cross match the clutch and flywheel from both manufacturers. Personally I went with the sachs racing clutch as it's a well known product that works, plus I know I have a sachs unit already fitted so don't need to change the flywheel. That said, I'm leaving the original clutch in until it's dead, and it's only slipping ever so slightly in 6th at 3k under full throttle, so it's easy to drive around. If it lasts for 6 months or so then I might change the dmf for a single mass, as I'm not too bothered about nvh.
