1.33.166, I dont care that i was disqual. for hitting 1 cone on my last lap, that was an epic day out and as my first track day when ive been driving on track it was amazing fun!

I think ive got hooked, just want to keep going!

Which motor were you in? :)

Well ...

Me, Richard and Simon (beryls Cheif Pilot) drove up in the  Richards White Fabia VRS, Yeti VRS and his Fiesta ST-3, respectively. Due to the fact that the first 8am session only had two drivers booked in (and one was a no show) i booked myself into the 8am session.

Took the White VRS out but it blew a lwoer boost pipe after 4 laps. it was game over as we had to strip the boost pipe off.

So then i took the FIesta Out while Richard was in the Yeti for the 10am session. Best lap in the 8am session was 1.39 IIRC, best time in the 10am was 1.33.166

And i loved it! such an amazingly well balanced car! :)

Drive the white vRS back home or a recovery truck? If I had the money I'd quite happily get rid of all my little odds and ends for one!

Now some posed shots as our plucky contestants await to start their timed laps (Sorry but I missed the first 5)

This is what the winner's tyres looked like after the event

Golf wheels?

Golf wheels?

No Mongrel wheels.  Golf wheels have more tread than that.

Looking at the photos above you would never have guessed there was a Golf there today.   :wonder:

Was it very tight between the golf Mongrel And Yeti in the end?

Golf ended up fourth, I had issues when I got there, car wouldn't run, then when on track a lot of stuttering and poor power delivery, that said there was only a few seconds between us all, Dave and Lolli pipped me by about 3 tenths to third, well done to him and Richard and Jason were also only tenths apart.

I am sure someone will post the time sheet

I only got one shot of your car on track but it was so out of focus I couldn't bare to post it. Just too quick I think!

We took the pipe off completely and re fitted all the fixings, put it back together and didnt drive it till it was time to go home. made it all the way back too :)

I understand, photography is a fine art, I am sure there will be next time..

Two half laps...

Bloody awesome day.  Loved it!

Chuffed just to take 1.5 seconds off my previous time from the last time I did this.  Can only assume due to taking different lines, or maybe my brakes were working better today.

Anyway, when's the next one?! :D

Practise at top, proper timing at the bottom without the sadly DQ mr Mayo.

Couldn't they make up their minds what a Yeti was?

As Taylor said, he borrowed the Fabia but had boost issues, so we double drove the Fiesta ST and after three 4 or 5 lap stints he put in a respectable 1.36 with no track experience other than about 20 minutes driving.  I was in the 1.31 area.

Then everyone else turned up and Taylor drove the Fiesta ST in the main Briskoda session.

Sadly he clipped one cone in corner 12 and his time was disallowed on his last hot lap, but even so on his first track day in a car he's never even driven on the road he would have been in a stonking 5th place!

He also didn't have any major crashes, which made my day cheaper than it could have been...

At 8am there was just him and me double driving the Fiesta, we were the only drivers for the whole session!

(While Simon AKA Beryl's chief pilot assisted by matty tried to fix the boost pipe)

10am Qualifying.

Me too, fantastic day.

I was only 0.22 seconds off your time too.

Great fun, for a first event - even if I did terribly :).

Eventful drive home though, had a terrible knocking under the car. Stopped at quick fit, chucked the car up on the ramps and found my passenger wheel wasn't even hand tight... So I'd driven from Southampton to Bedford, did an hour on track and a few miles before the feedback had got really bad. Need to have a chat with garage that changed my wheels yesterday...

Thanks to Jon for waiting around until we'd found out what it was.

They'll just quote the small print of check the nuts in 50 miles! I've had that on a van :(

Yeah I expect so. I'm not looking for anything, I just think it's worth warning them in case it happens in future and someone else is not as lucky.

I should have checked them really.

First time on track, what a Hoot, really enjoyed the day, must do another   Car survived in one piece, no knocks, rattles or bangs

Well done one and all glad you all had a great day out!
