I was taking the corner before the pit straight at around 75 to 80mph in 4th.  It was just a matter of me building up to it :D

And the first time I did it I totally outbraked myself at the end and nearly went off :D

I think I was almost flat out in 4th doing around 80 mph...but might be wrong. I know for sure that I was having fun..!

Too soft for track eh?

You didn't happen to get a glimpse of the RS3s that were on BJB540's car then...

The tread looked like a mountain range... where it wasn't nearly ripped off.

I just think that I could improve and knock a few secs next year with a more track friendly rubber. I was happy with the Centos but I know there are better tyres out there :)

Probably.  It was the fact then I was doing over 100mph by the tight 2nd gear left that shocked me.  That's a lot of speed to scrub off. :D

some track rubber would make a huge difference Matty :)

Me chasing down the briskrover with his failing brakes!

A chase, an old Rover,

Just like watching an old episode of Police, Camera Action :D

when I win the lottery, I will buy Haydn a rover 220 turbo engine! lol...

Gilly said naughty words every time I went round that corner :D

Very kind of you but not necessary. The 160 engine is just right

Slander, the tyres were fine it's not like I was being told they were illegal when we got to the garage and got the knocking sorted out :notme:

the corner after the pits before the pits straight you took that at 70+? I don't think I hit that at any stage!

That's your challenge then.

Make a citigo go round those corners at 70+. :-)

Near ish future is a bit expectant ;)

Wow that Octy put's it's power down really well, it was pulling away from you at the point where I thought your 4motion might have an edge.

Nice tip though: if car hungry during a track outing, consider feeding it a nutritious snack of traffic cones

I think that Octy was running a lot of horse power!  350+ I believe,  my Golf has a mere 260 (estimated) so I think I did well to keep sight of him.

Cone was going in too fast, the beauty of Bedford is that you can run out if you need to  :p

More like 440bhp.

It's got an S3 2.0TFSI which runs 440 on stock internals.

It's seriously quick, wizzes past us all at Castle Combe...

440  :o   then I did do well to keep up for as long as I did.      Golf is going away to be mapped and fine tuned, hopefully it will be better after this.

Yes, at Combe last time it kept up with my GT-R (as already rolling) due to a better power/weight ratio.

Until I lost him going a bit mad on a chicane.

Was that the bit I recall from you and Matty talking as he went sideways out of a corner?

Yes we came out of the corner a bit sideways and the Octy came out completely sideways.

What a great moment that was...;)

That's when my track experience began...and it's still here...;)

I just remember being all three of us side by side on the straight.

One sec I had noone behind me in the rear view, next thing I know is If our windows had been down I could have high fived your passenger.

Shat myself with the Nissan's roar
