Milltek exhaust pics please

Featured Replies

I have a favour to ask of Milltek owners. I've seen the pics on their website, but require a few more to satisfy my needs! :D

Would especially like a side-on, full car shot. But as many as possible please.

I thank you.

You said you would resist ;)

You will never loose the bug :)

If it's still daylight by the time I get back home and it's not raining and you don't mind picks of a dirty furby, I'll take a few snaps :)

Edit, mine's black too :D But different allows and lowered a tiny amount :)

Mines a little lower as well! ;)

Actually, I probably have a case of deja vu, looking at your car! ;)

Sorry about last night, completely forgot

Took some this morning. If you want any other angles or in different daylight, let me know :)

Why look when you can 'hear' as well!! I posted a video comparison of the standard and Milltek exhausts after Star Performance fitted mine back in February.

The video shows it mostly from the rear, but shows the difference in sound as well which is verry nice :D

Thanks for the pics Xavier.

I'm starting to like the twin round tailpipes. I was wanting to keep the standard tailpipe design but the Milltek tailpipes some how suits the bumper cut out. They don't look over the top either.

Ross, thanks for the vid.

I'm really surprised at the level of noise.................or should I say lack of it!

I wasn't going to bother with an aftermarket exhaust (as mentioned by Andy) because I'm getting to be an old codger & don't like big boomy exhausts. But the Milltek sounds good with a slightly lower tone but no significant increase in noise levels.

What's it like when driving day to day? Is it noisy from the inside?

I did actually listen to carlos' Milltek at the mini meet we had on Sat. It was pouring down with rain, so I listened to it for only 5 secs or so.

Thanks for the pics Xavier.

when you put your foot down you can hear an increase in noise but driving normally the noise increase is very little, not that i drive normally very often. :D i only bought the milltek because i was told it was not like a boy racer mega loud exhaust because i think i am getting a bit old for all that sh*te.

That was your car? It looks nice man, nice wheels.

I have to be perfectly honest with you though..

The day I was watching the video, I had my nice headphones on so I got the rumble and everything...I wanted to show my friend/colleague, who also drives a Fabia, what it sounded like, WITHOUT telling him which car it is...he sits opposite me...so I gave him the headphones and pressed play...he raised his eyebrow and said 'It sounds like a truck'...

I swear man, I'm not making this up I'm not trying to start anything at all, I'm being perfectly honest. He din't see the video when he was listening to it. I told him what it is after he listened to it.

Bet your neighbours love you!

Nice sound.... video is like car is UFO though... all the lights lol

Is it really worth all that money??

Jim at Star Performance told me yesterday it gives very very little power gain if any on there 215 bhp vRS, dont know if it'd be any different on say a standard 130bhp or not???

I know this will sound daft because it's the same car, but the tailpipes look bigger in the above pic to the ones that Xavier posted.

Probably because in the above pic they are clean..lol

Yeah, it's the angle, and Ross' pics are of a clean black body and shiny stainless steel pipe ( :naughty: )

I can take more tomorrow if you want from the side. I'll even give it a bit of a clean first :P

If you don't mind, Xavier. That would be great.

Here's a question for you:-

Would there be a noticable difference if just the cat was replaced i.e. the standard one taken off & sports cat fitted to the standard pipe work? Or is there a difference in diameter?

I've just found out in another thread that the Milltek sports cat is a bigger diameter, so it won't fit the standard pipe. :(

Anyway, keep them pics coming! :D

A few more pics, after a lil' clean and chrome :D

I think you've caught every angle :D

It's convinced me that the Milltek tailpipe actually suits the bumper better than the standard one. They're cut off at a downward angle, which follows the contour of the bumper (the standard one is cut straight down). Also, the fit is perfect. It stops flush with the bumper, whereas the standard stands proud (something I don't like).

Anyway, I've signed myself up for the GB on the turbo back exhaust & will be waiting anxiously when I come back from the States. :D
